Aggressive educational programs started at the capital with most books and ideas coming from them. With teachers coming from manila, obviously Philippines history(aside from Luzon) cover-ups and tagalog supremacy started here.

it doesn't matter....if we break our country apart it will only lead to ruin...do you think corruption will be gone? corruption will always be there(and don't start talking like a hypocrite, ask yourself, have you never bribed someone? or paid under the table? heck, even not cheated on an exam?)...the problem with us is that we linger too much in the past....how about we unite for a better country and good governance by our doing our part no matter how small?

and by the way, Gen. Martin Delgado is my great granduncle

Hi, i am pansitkanton of AlternateHistory.com where most information on the 2nd post was sourced from my thread and I would only like to rectify some misinformation.

The validity of the Federal Republic of Visayas as a sovereignty is still and may indefinitely be debated. Only the Spanish government--unclear whether the orders came from the Crown in Madrid--through the Acta de Capitulacion, recognized the existence of such state which supposedly only covered Panay and Negros.

As I am personally a pan-Visayanist, sadly, the Cebuano and Samarnon revolutionaries under Arcadio Maxilom and Vicente Lucban, a Bikol who married a Waray, rejected the inclusion into the Iloilo-based Visayan government. As one poster here mentioned, these details can be found on a historiographical study by Velmonte ( 1998 ). It's historical fact and I cannot deny that despite that I am part-Aklanon and Hiligaynon who'd love to reignite Visayan solidarity among fellow Cebuano (and Karay-a and Waray). This is in spite of trifling animosities between the Hiligaynon and Cebuano. And yes, while the Ilonggos were the last to remain resistant to the Malolos Republic, Cebu and Samar became one of the first loyal contingents of the Revolutionary Government of Aguinaldo in the Visayas.

On a side note, Aklan was the very first chapter of the Katipunan in the Visayas; however, it was said that the Visayans really did not have substantial connections and affairs with their colleagues in Luzon. They remained seemingly independent movements despite directives coming from Malolos most particularly during the Philippine-American War.

The veracity of the Maragtas and even Aginid: Bayok sa Atong Tawarik describing these nobles who were said to have been our predecessors is also disputed. As a matter of fact, the first one has been disproven already. The only empirical proof that we can rely upon are recent archaeological, linguistic and genetic studies, although still conflicting. It was said that we either came directly from Taiwan southwards or that our ancestors, including those of the Tagalog people, leapfrogged from Taiwan to present-day Papua New Guinea then shifted upwards to Samar or Mindanao.

The linguistic reconstruction of Bisaya from Sri Vijaya is also baseless. Some anthropologists have done that, but the connections were vague. Whether the name Bisaya is from an indigenous proto-Visayan form or a loan from Sanskrit, we are still unsure unless we find further historical accounts from other Asian or European sources.

My thread on Alternate History forum was only of musing 'what-ifs' and of then-lacking credible historical knowledge. The flag, then, is also my own conception. It is expected that anyone who would find details from that site would automatically consider them as products of creative imagination on world history and nothing more.

Nonetheless, I would give my sincerest apologies to everyone here who was misled.
