what is more important the lyrics or the melody?

Hmmm.. I think tabla ra ang duha. Because you can't feel the lyrics if wala siya mu coincide sa melody. good example are instrumental songs. Certain instrumental songs make you feel so happy and others make you feel so sad and what not. If you have a song nga nindot ug lyrics but way klaro ang melody, di sad nimo mabantayan ang point sa song. So murag tabla ra sad jud sila.

since everyone is saying lyrics, im gonna go with the melody, sometimes you can feel the essence of the song even before it started, when its just playing its introduction, sometimes the strum of the guitar, the beat of the drums or even if there is a violin, a melody can tell if its a sad song, a happy song and so on

when composing a song sometimes lyrics should come first, before they can put a melody or color to those words... so ang akong tubag.. ambot unsa ang importante... kever...

I think it's different for everyone. For me it's the melody. I can feel the song with the rhythm given and the emotion it lets out. I may feel happy towards this specific song sometimes and there are other days when I feel emotional. It's beautiful when music let's out your emotions through the melody itself. It's art written in silence.
