OT: As much as I liked World War Z, it is no where near one of the best zombie films ever, IMHO. And I am Legend was entertaining, but not the best either. My list...

    1. Dawn of the Dead (1978 and 2004)
    2. Night of the Living Dead (including 1993 remake)
    3. 28 Days/Weeks Later
    4. The Devil's Playground
    5. Day of the Dead
    ...
somewhere around 10, World War Z--not the BEST zombie movie I've seen, but certainly not the worst, and was actually entertaining.

Last of Us was/is a great game, and you are absolutely right, the storyline deserves similar acclaim to that of a great movie. Nag-sakit jud akong dughan while playing this game, lol. Zombie video games list:

    1. Last of Us
    2. Dead Rising
    3. Left 4 Dead
    4. Resident Evil Franchise
    5. Dead Island

Honorable mention produced by indie game makers: Project Zomboid, Day Z (Arma 2 mod) and The Last Stand Games (Con Artist Games)

OnT: What do you guys think, does the ending seem to be making an opening for a sequel? I mean the novel did involve various accounts from different walks of life during the "war".

According to Marc Foster and Plan B entertainment while being interviewed, there is a possibility for a trilogy. The next film could be a Prequel, focusing on how everything started. This is where things needs to be browsed through the novel.

The events in the film only constitutes around 12-15% of what is depicted in the book. So there is a big chance for a sequel. As Gerry Lane quoted in the last few minutes of the film, " This is not the end "

If the actual film follows a prequel and the details described in the book, the second film could hit records! Max Brooks' storyline is amazing.

I would like the next movie to explore the events that happened in North Korea, or tell the story there as the book left it open for interpretation.

    Spoiler!
Who wouldn't want THAT movie huh? an underground bunker complex with hordes and hordes of zombies, or I'd like to think that's what happened to the entire population

Murag maglibog ang mga bookreaders ani. Ang sa book, the origin was in a Chinese fishing village. The film stated something started in Korea, but di ko sure mao gyud. They only stated that the North Korean method of diminishing the spread was very effective - they remove every set of dentation of the entire population within hours. So gkuhaan ug ngipon tanan population so wlay makapaak. Mao wlay infection kau ang NoKor. Sakto sad!

yeah I thought that CIA operative's explanation kinda messed up the book's idea of how the DPRK handled the outbreak. It also kind of implicitly identified that patient zero was in Korea, which is not aligned with the book.

Nakasabot nako. Dako daw ug objection ang China kung ipa-emphasize sa mga producers nga China gkan ang outbreak. so mao ila nlang gi-himo ug Korea. They want to avoid losing million of ticketsales from a PRC ban on the film. Leche gyud ning mga intsika.

Like Contagion. They shouldn't bend over for the Chinese, like how Red Dawn (2012) bent over for them and made the North Koreans the aggressors, instead of the PRC.
