Naa toy ge interview sa TV regarding kung ang brass knuckles or chakurno illegal ba, or ma priso ka.

Ang answer sa attorney, dili ka ma preso pero naay authority ang police mo confiscate ani. Regarding sa telescopic baton, dili ko attorney ha ,sa akong opinion, pwede man maka dala2x ka ana... but just like the brass knuckles, if e confiscate na sa police, we should cooperate.

As an alternative sa telescopic baton, pwede manka mag dala2x ug arnis. Kana dili na siya dakponon or e confiscate.

ballpen na lang gamita...or ang key sa car(if naa ka)..pretty much anything is a weapon in the right hands

I once used my heavy books to throw at the bullies back in high school, or that time I used a plastic chair because of another bully taunting me, or used my bag(with heavy books again) holding it by the sling, heck I even hit a bully with my mountain bike after he threw a stone at me!! (duol ra ang school nako sa iloilo)

"an idiot with the latest weaponry and gadgets is no match against the man who is a master with the stone"

and again, ballpen jud akoa favorite payong sad

@TS: I used to carry a telescopic baton inside my motorcycle. So far I haven't seen any law that says it is illegal nor legal here in Cebu or even Philippines. But confiscation is possible... just carry it in a safe or 'not' provoking way so as not to alarm authorities. It is how you handle yourself that makes you a subject of doubt or suspicion from them. If you carry it barely in your hands fully extended then maybe the authorities will wonder what you are up to...but if you will put it inside your bag/pocket then it will not create an alarming effect to the public or to the authorities. Just place it in your bag where it is easily accessible to you in case you need it.

It is also in the way you handle yourself that make the criminals get attracted to you or make them stay away. Whether you carry a collapsible baton or not never forget to carry a pen in your pocket... pens are not illegal to carry but it is a good weapon on street defense. I always carry it whenever I roam around the carbon area or Pasil and Taboan. But sometimes I like it simple - I don't carry any tool at all.

Furthermore, there is this big tendency that we tend to be brave and aggressive if we know we are carrying a weapon. We tend to confront issues with our aggressors because of the weapon we have on-hand even if the issue is not worth a fight. And TS, since you are a boxer, it is clear that you can defend yourself better than a girl or anybody without background of boxing or some sort. It is a matter of surprise - hit first. I know you are not asking for our suggestions but from an istoryan to another istoryan, I think you should blend in with the place so as not to attract bad elements. Your most ultimate tool for self-defense is your mind and the mind is a very lethal weapon. It can create tools to defend yourself randomly. The decision now is up to you whether you'll carry your baton or not. And is it up to you also how you would justify it to authorities why you carry it. Important thing also is you know how to use it when needed.

Be safe always istoryans because the issue or concern that TS has brought up is real.
