@newbie, I think you're overreacting. Let me re-post that statement that got your blood boiling
If you read my statements with a cool head, you'll see that I'm merely sharing what I've read from a book. It's very clear in my original post that I'm not doing any blaming.
By lifting something from a book written by an ex-Catholic priest makes me a Protestant? This is an example of a non-sequitur. Very juvenile logic.
I would have to disagree on the part regarding the Vatican's condemnation of the Final Solution or the Shoa. That is an entire subject for debate in itself. Pope Pius XII didn't ever publicly mentioned the Jews, the gas chambers nor the Final Solution in clear terms. The best he said was this address to a College of Cardinals on 2 June 1943: He expressed compassion to "those who have turned an anxiously imploring eye to us, tormented as they are, for reasons of their nationality or descent, by major misfortunes and by more acute and grave suffering, and destined sometimes, even without guilt on their part, to exterminatory measures." Again, no mention of the Jews, the gas chambers nor the Final Solution. It's not even a statement of condemnation.
I would also have to point out that the first religious group to condemn slavery was not the Vatican but a bastard sect called the Quakers.
I would also have to disagree with the equating of Holocaust with abortion. There are certain circumstances that would make abortion a logical option, e.g. if it is to save the mother or if the pregnancy was a result of rape or incest. Nothing is absolutely right or wrong. You always have to consider the circumstances.
I'm not disagreeing about the fact he saved thousands of Jews inside Vatican City. What I'm pointing out is the lack of clear and strong statement condemning the Holocaust.
There are writers who would put forth in their books Pius XII's anti-semitic tendencies or they'd point out the fact that not a single Nazi soldier/officer was ever ex-communicated. But I wouldn't go that far. I'm just going to point out his silence during the Holocaust.
For your information, that incident happened in Australia. The nun had to save the mother at the expense of committing abortion. She had no choice. Either way, the child was going to die. The nun had to do save the mother. You did read my statement completely, right?
Fine logic indeed.
Accusations without evidence. Where's this "misinformation"? Where's my self-proclamation as this "HARBINGER OF JUSTICE" and "SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS"?
Criticizing does not make one a fanatic.
A lot of angry statements and accusations you've hurled my way. What ever happened to the rule against Ad Hominems? Take a deep breath....
