they are not like colours...
colours sends unit to them...then they send it to manila...

also, in fairness to canon, i dont remember seeing a sign saying na sila ang service center gyud sa cebu?

i've talked to one of canon's service man last week.
ila ra man na ipadala ang defective cameras to manila for repair.
mura ra man na sila supplier diha.

mao na maau jung ma inform ang public nga wala ra gihapoy kalainan ang canon sa ubang camera if in terms of direct customer service labi na if under warranty ka...its just the same sa case sa ako Olympus nga sa Kolours gibuy...gipada ra gihapon sa manila with free shipping and all....

end user point:
direct ka naka deal with them...no 3rd person to deal with...faster transaction...
kung wala ka warranty, agi ka nila...free shipping and stuff...wala na patong ang 3rd party shop...so cheaper...
kung agi ka shop, most likely mupatong paman gyud me sa service charge diba
followups direct naka nila.
less point of error...from you to shop to manufacturer. who knows when it reaches the shop basin dinha na nuon mabinuagan...or say mahugaw sa gadala...etc. a lot of things can happen/can go wrong. best gyapon ang You to Manufacturer na diritso. at the hands of the manufacturer, if something goes wrong, 100% sure ka macompensate...even probably get a new one hehehe 3rd party shops, you dont know...we dont know...lain2x biya policy ang mga shops...even showrooms have different policy/procedure...
with presence here, they have special events, parties...permi na sila magpakaon...
free printing, free cleaning...promos like that happen constantly...do you find these things wiith other brands...i dont think so...

dealer/retailer point:
easier to get in contact with them since local landlines are free...
a person we can interact, consult, followup on...pwedi bisitahon diritso didto...
local presence means local stocks means instantly available units when we need it (our clients needs)...no need to wait for item to be shipped...
no need to go to bank and make deposit...magbayad mi sila na pickup sa office...
personal delivery...etc.

yehey.. nakapalit nako CANON IXY 10 just this day(or CANON SD1000 in america or CANON IXUS 70 here)..., nagpapalit ko sa JAPAN.. barato ra.. 10K pesos ra ang price.. sulit kaayo...

What's IXUS 70 have that IXUS 75 don't:

IXUS 70 has viewfinder while IXUS 75 have none.

viewfinder is very important specially those who want their batteries last long. It really saves battery if you're not using the LCD...

I still prefer on IXUS 70, mas daghan functionality..

how often do you still use its tiny viewfinder? i own plenty of ultra compact digicams...including the ixus 60 to the latest ixus 75 and with the 3" display of the ixus75 i havent missed not having an inaccurate, uber tiny, almost useless optical viewfinder on an ultracompact camera. yes it does have advantages but at this stage its so negligible that the bigger screen just offers so much more than the ovf in 99.9% of the time.

battery life difference is negligible at best if you want to use the OVF. why? coz you would probably spend more time using the LCD to check the shot/histogram, review the images, set the camera, etc. etc. etc.
not to mention video capture...

if item in question uses EVF then there would be no battery life difference at all...
besides 1 charge of the battery can shoot over 200 shots with LCD on all the time...
how often do you go out with your ixy and shoot 200 shots in one sitting?
if battery life is really an issue, get a spare one
IMO using the ovf on such a small P&S camera actually takes away the digital feel of it...
it makes it less hightech in a way...you loose the whole experience and joy of shooting with your new digital ixy...dont cha think?

dont get me wrong, i love the ixus 70...super small and lightweight yet feature packed...
what im trying to say is, optical viewfinder shouldnt be the end all reason for buying an ultracompact p&s...
for my needs of an ultracompact, i now perfer bringing the ixus75 over the ixus 70 if i dont plan to bring my bigger cameras.

can you customize the settings sa ixus70? i don't know how it's called... kanang pwede nimu ma adjust ang shutter speed and stuffs? I'm looking for a portable digicam nga naa sad manual modes... and i'm thinking of buying canon...

all ixus are not equipt with Av, Tv or full manual controls...ul have to go with a bigger cam like A570is or higher...
all A4xx and most A5xx and A6xx dont have manual controls...so do look for specific models that have them...
most if not all A7xx and higher series have manual controls already...
