OK, so I saw Man of Steel again over the weekend, and here's what I thought of my second helping.
- The Supes and Zod fight still paled in comparison to the first fight with Faora/hulk Kryptonian.
- I think the writers did a good job of making Supes more human, and thus more relatable. The problem here is that the first half of the movie was dedicated to young Clark's struggles as a pariah in human society that not much screen time is left for character development.
- Michael Shannon was an OK villain, and I liked how him being a baddie was actually explained. He's not just an asshole, it's just the life he was
born into. I still prefer the Khan style of calculating villainy though.
Questionable scenes.
- So Metropolis was completely destroyed, yet during the final scenes it's back to business like nothing happened at the Daily Planet.
- There was a gravity-sucking singularity, and yet Lois Lane still managed to fall to the ground just in time for Supes to save her.
