Nice! I have a feeling na makakuha ko ani this year after release sa Japan. Coz my Wife will having vacation in Japan this August and she will come back on December.. and i heard also that Japan and US Market will get first batch unit of PS4 before Christmas Season..!So Can't wait to have this as few owner's of PS4 here in Cebu!

Well I did say it is an Effective tactic.
I say it's shameless since I am consciously well-aware of it since I work in a similar as this (I'm in Advertising, you see) and Exclusivity on certain things does have its ups and downs. In my opinion, its only becomes a shameless tactic when it becomes well-aware on its nature or if one (in this case, me) knows of its true nature--but again, this is just me talking about it. Some consider it a good thing and some don't while some just don't care. In my line of work, this version applies as well. But I don't want to give any pointers on how we use this tactic--coz it'd be "shameless" if we did.
Whoops, maybe I said too much? hahaha

but that still doesn't make the promotion of exclusives as shameless, even for someone working in marketing for a first party video game publisher. I bet even their marketing department wouldn't even remotely think the promotion of exclusive games as shameless. Because if we think this way, then all these years... what a shameless thing the video game industry is!

The number of third party exclusives have already gone down this generation, thanks to middleware tools. With both the upcoming consoles from Microsoft and Sony moving to the x86 architecture, porting between PC>PS4>XBone (lol WiiU) and releasing multi-platform games will be easier than ever. The only way a platform secures an exclusive game is if the platform holder makes a deal with third party developers/ publishers, or makes the game themselves. There's nothing shameless in promoting their own developed/ funded game.

The only way the promotion of exclusives becomes shameless, is when they do it the same way Sega did in the 1990s.

I never knew the very basic step of promoting your own developed/ funded game automatically equates to shameless marketing. Regardless of how the marketing is done and how the message is conveyed to the consumers -- we don’t have to look at the context of the promotion itself. We can instantly label the simple promotion of a first party publisher’s own game as shameless marketing. I learned something new today.

So let’s look at Sony’s shamlessly marketed games for the PS4 that was earlier shown in the shameless marketing event that is E3 2013.



... and a few other games I have missed. I’m really disappointed The Last Guardian isn’t included.

Some important details of the PS4:

- $399
- no DRM
- Playstation Plus subscription is required for online play
- Gaikai will launch in 2014. Will allow PS3 and PS4 to stream PS3 games. Vita support will be added in the future.

idol! from ps1 to ps2... ni buwang ko sa sony sa previous gen because ps3 sucks around 2006-2010. that's why i chose 360. but with today's E3. next i will have PS4!! hihihi i'm back to playstation \m/
