Here's the thing, if you do it right in the stock market, you could earn so well even within a short period of time and it is very liquid. I'm pretty sure that real estate is not as liquid as stocks.
Bottom line, any kind of investment has its own pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages. It is very important to know everything involved about it before getting into it. There is no such thing as perfect investment since I know some people who didn't do well when they invested in properties.
