Ganahan unta ko try ug gamit aning Ubuntu (I have like 10 Ubuntu CDs here) pero guol lang ko kay basin daghan sa apps akong ginagamit ron kay dili compatible ani nga OS.

Many of the Windows-based software applications have analogues (equivalents, or, often having similar functions/features) in GNU/Linux. Check the following:

And the list is growing.

Some applications even have versions for different platforms. For example, Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird have versions for both GNU/Linux and Windows (and many other OSes and platforms, for that matter). Opera (the browser) also has versions for both GNU/Linux and Windows.

Unsa man gyud maau mga bro if your use is more on web design and web development kay i need photoshop and macromedia installed, also cuteftp, mySQL, etc.

If you're willing to migrate to Linux, there are lots of software for web development in Linux.

In place of Adobe Photoshop, you might want to check out The GIMP (http://www.gimp.org). The GIMP forms part of almost all GNU/Linux distributions.

For webpage design, you might want to check out the following:

Bluefish (http://bluefish.openoffice.nl)
Quanta Plus (http://quanta.sourceforge.net or http://quanta.kdewebdev.org)
Nvu (http://www.nvu.com)
Amaya--The World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) very own HTML editor (http://www.w3.org/Amaya)

All of the above GUI editors claim to churn out standards-compliant (X)HTML and CSS. If you're an advanced designer and prefer "manual" editing, there are lots of text editors on Linux. A favorite among programmers are emacs and vi.

For FTP functionality, there's gFTP. It's also standard in any recent GNU/Linux distro.

mySQL is also standard on any GNU/Linux distro. Although, sometimes it doesn't get installed by default. Other database software (e.g., postgresql) is also freely available.

Apache is also standard on GNU/Linux.

I've almost all of these applications myself.
