^ AMD's offering usually faster than Nvidia's offering on high AA and on very high resolutions (more than 1080p)... that is mainly due to the higher mem bandwidth that AMD offers... but the average gamer or most of the gamer can not identify image quality above 4XMSAA or equivalent.... by the way, Nvidia's TXAA (lighter than MSAA during GPUs processing) have an image quality that is very comparable to its MSAA counterpart...
also, on the desktop/gaming GPU, AMD's offering is much more powerful in computational power than Nvidia's... granting, they are targeted on the same class... due to their higher numbers of Stream Processing cores...
for brute gaming power, generally, Nvidia's offering usually is faster (but not all the time)... with the exemption of those games that will be on very high AA w/c is reserved for benckmarking or very high resolutions... the average gamer can not utilize this capabilty of the AMD's card since, the usual monitor used is 1920 x 1080... this is true for now, but will step up into the next level in the coming months or years as technology improves... (mag ready napud ta for the upgrades if mag sunod gyud ta aning technology... gasto again... gggrrrrr...)... this is a fact man in this passion of ours... so, cherrs... hehehehe...
in the electronics industry as well as in the software industry... the Companies "must" innovate... or die... competition is brutally fierce in this industries...

^^ Been a follower of AA ever since nvidia invented it. All i can say is txaa and fxaa are propagandas in favor of performance because there were no improvement in image quality from msaa. And believe me, the difference in the degradation is that huge. I can immediately discern the excessive softening of details. I do agree though with 4x and 8x. But 0x and 4x is again huge. And 8x still does qualify as part of Full Settings and not only for benchmarking. People love to turn things up. I bet you do to. That includes 7870 and 660ti users who are not exactly average gamers. They are generally advanced users who are even more knowledgeable than 680 users who are basically just users with purchasing power.

It is not only nvidia that practices these optimizations "cheats". Way back at the release of 68xx cards, AMD released a Catalyst that played around with mlaa and other settings to favor the newer cards and make them appear faster than the previous 58xx at the expense of image quality.

yeah, you're correct bro... but in actual practice, only a handful of gamers are that meticulous regarding the quality of the AA... advanced gamers man na sila... you're included on this group... i don't consider my self as one kay dili ko meticulous na taas ug level... win2x man ni akoa... hehehe... nindot gyud i crank to its maximum setting ang games pero, lisod ug identify ug AA quality if the eyes are not trained to... like sa akoa, ang ma identify lang nko kay ang "zero AA" ug ang "2X MSAA"... ang FXAA, medyo, blurry gamay pero, pas2x man ang game.... dili nako maka identify... hasta sa TXAA, the same lang akoang tan-aw sa MSAA equivalent... hehehe... basta, inig zoom sa telescope (sniper akoang usual role in the FPS game), smooth gani ang edges sa graphics, smooth ang overall quality sa graphics sa game... then fluid ang game play... acceptable ra nako... ang 8X MSAA, bug-at kaayo... akaong GTX 660 Ti SLI, mag kamang... hehehe... kun mag ilis ko'g "K" CPU, maka tabang siguro but i'm not sure how many fps ang ma improve... gamay ra gyud kay ang burden, naa man sa GPUs...

available naman guro dha ang haswell? Haswell nalang if ever mag upgrade ka, saw some chinese reviews sa i5-4670k. Around 6% improvement over i5-3570k and consumes around 30w less. I think mas worth it siya nga upgrade coming from sandybridge than going for ivy.

^ yup, last month pa available ang Haswell diri... i don't want to spend for another mobo... kani lang sa ang Fatality Z77 Pro akoang gamiton... wla pa ra ba ni magamit sa full potential nya apil ang GPUs kay i3-2120 ra man ang CPU na gamit nko ron... wla pa ma unleash ang full power nya... hehehe
