It should be a part of the COMELECS mandate to inform the people
what are the actual character capabilities of those who run for office,
otherwise they are very much free to mask themselves with flowery words
and false promises to please the masses.

Maski unsa na ka educated or influential ang public servants nato ..... WHAT HAVE THEY DONE SIGNIFICANTLY ? They are nothing different .
Basin naka limot mo na after the Marcos regime ... we already started becoming a LAUGHING STOCK NATION ang nagka grabe siya hantod karon .

Who's responsible for educating voters? politicians, the educated voters or the government? because if we urge these uneducated and under-educated voters to do their research then it may become burden to them. Access to online research is very limited... considering the small percentage of internet penetration all over the country. And even those who have access are majority not registered voters. If we say there's television -- as we all know anything can be done there just to persuade people with their untiring "para sa mahihirap", "edukasyon at trabaho" platforms. Awareness. Research. Easy to say but hard to disseminate and understand.
Okay then,
no intricacy involved just show the real entity,
track records, scholastic records/acheivements,
criminal records, so on and so forth, it should be as per reality
unbiased and transparent. In this sense the people would have a credible
reference to choose and to weigh if the one who runs can stand or fulfill what he promise.
The most important part that should be promulgated are the character and the capacity.
1. So, unbiased and transparent would mean that Comelec should validate each track record/scholastic record, achievements, etc for each candidate for every position? Otherwise, Comelec might be listing track records which are not correct, and risk of unnecessarily raising a candidates reputation or unnecessarily damaging one.
2. would you like the Comelec to have a 5 star rating system based on the strengths of their "character and capacity", to aid the illiterate voters perhaps? Or a Comelec recommendation star of approval perhaps?
No just present all the facts,
of course everything should be revealed.
Track records is not an issue, what they have to do is just
show the tenure/duration of service and the accomplishments/failures,
and comelec should harmonize this for the contending parties as per actual facts.
This is good to our fellow countrymen who does not have access with information media,
to thoroughly know the quality of those who run for office.
No the comelec should not make any rankings whatsoever,
but merely just to publish the required information honestly and without any prejudice.
When you say Comelec should harmonize those data, what does it mean? Shouldn't Comelec verify each record from where they truly originate? Comelec has the sole discretion to categorize the accomplishment or failure as such? Wouldn't there be any contestation if ever the involved candidate would not be agreeable to the categorization done by the Comelec? Would there be a limit to how long the listings of accomplishments or failures? if there is, who would have the discretion of what to include or what not to include?
If Comelec should publish the list for the consumption of the public, how should Comelec do about it? Should it be in English, Tagalog, native dialect or in all languages?
