MANILA, Philippines -- A number of supporters of Manila mayor-elect Joseph "Erap" Estrada on Thursday trooped and camped outside his house in Manila to ask for "balato."
The supporters came from various parts of Manila, but most came from Tondo.
There were senior citizens and movie fans who were hoping to get even just a small amount of money.
They said they wanted to test Estrada's famous slogan: "Erap para sa mahirap."
However, most of them ended disappointed since no one saw the former president today.
According to Estrada's Facebook page, the mayor-elect took a much needed rest yesterday and also visited the dentist due to an aching tooth.
His spokesperson said Estrada is planning to hold a motorcade on Saturday to personally thank his supporters.
Estrada won in all six districts of Manila.
