Anyway, you're letting yourself get carried away. Russia incident involved China, not Taiwan. Confusing these two can be a very costly and deadly mistake, because Taiwan is a close ally of the U.S., while China is not. I think it's better to wait for the results of the investigation.
No, we are talking about borders and sovereignty here,
it's not a common sneak and poach kind of thing and what would you propose
who would we would place in our boarders, DENR employees?, then why do you think other countries
boarder guards are heavily armed what are they defending?

It's their mistake why they intrude,
and even gallantly as alleged rammed our patrol boats,
why is it that they did not surrender themselves properly so as not to be fired upon,
we should not be so lenient with our borders otherwise others will just consider it as
an entrance not a boundary to be respected.

I'm just citing how other countries would react if they do encounter
the same scenario as ours, and they do like us, defend what they do have,
    it's never been surprising.

No this is just an exchange of idea,
    walang personalan.

Kinsa bay nag ingon nga military encounter nahitabo didto? what happened was clearly enforcement of our domestic criminal laws. If Iwere the CG, I won't shoot them with the 50. Gamiton nako ang 20mm and SINK their criminal loaded ship, pick up the survivors, detain them for "questioning", and throw them in a nice "safe place". Our borders are guarded by men with GUNS. And their GUNS are the walls that keep intruders from defiling our HOMELAND. Kato nga taiwanese, though unfortunate that he died, was a victim of the mirisi doctrine. Ngano bitaw wa dayon ni tahod.. MIRISI! paksit nuon. Unsa kaha hitsura ato niya nga naigo sa 50 sa? mura siguro ug ginaling. hehehehehe!

Maayong gamiton na ang 50 caliber kay sigurado gyung lunod.
Unsa man pud tong taiwanese gisugat man pud ang bala,
tiklo hinoon siya. Maayo pud hinoon aron magmatngon na sila,
bisan maorag airgun ra atong armas kumpara sa ila pero maka-depensa
    gihapon ta.

You are presenting a false dilemma. It's not a choice between shooting to kill and twiddling their thumbs. As I said wait for the investigation first before jumping to conclusions. The excuse that the fishermen were trying to ram the boat is laughable. Greenpeace uses this tactic often, they tried to ram a Japanese vessel during their protests against whaling but the Japanese didn't strafe them with a machine gun, they simply apprehended them.

I think emow summed up the reactions here nicely:

I believe border patrols are heavily armed because of the problem of piracy in the high seas, which continues to be a problem to this day. It is for the coast guard to defend themselves against equally armed pirates who have the capacity to kill. But in this case, the fishermen were unarmed civilians, not armed to the teeth pirates.

You said "alleged" so I say wait for the investigation? If we can see the video, then it will be clearer what happened.

Imho, was not jumping to conclusions, was just pointing out the side of the coast guard. Laughable it may be, but being rammed is no joke especially if you are in a small boat. Can't exactly compare with the Japanese whaling ships and coast guard ships, as they are pretty big and can take the ramming from the Greenpeace vessel.

Yes I agree with you that people here are losing their decency and common sense...

Bai, dili pareha ug comparison ang anti-whaling strategy sa greenpeace vs japanese whaling ships sa gibuhat sa mga taiwanese intruders vs PCG. First of all trespassing ang taiwanese vessel ug they are "fishing" (actually poaching) in our waters and the PCG was there to protect our national interests. Second, it all happened INSIDE Philippine territorial waters. Third, they resisted arrest. Kung ang kawatan di mu hunong inag sita sa pulis, do you expect them to stop by just being asked nicely? or kung mu lugnot ang snatcher sa pulis ug sikaran pa jud ang pulis, maka expect kaha ka nga mu ingon ang pulis "palihug hunong ug hapa dong kay posasan tika"? Ngano man sad wa jud sila nihunog kung fishermen man gani jud sila? wa kaha to sila nag karga ug DRUGS or something illegal maong determinado jud sila nga di magpa dakop? Ang tuyo nga pusilon kay ang makina ra gamit ang 50cal which is the most sound thing to do. pero unsaon ta man nga tua man diay taw sa sulod sa engine room. Kuhae ug basi gud ang gibuhat sa CG sa japan dihang naay chinese vessel nga ni sulod sa ilang waters, lunod ang barko sa insik oi! hehehehehe! So instead of being critical sa mga taga PCG ug BFAR who are risking their lives so that your neighborhood won't be filled with more drugs from china or taiwan, why not give them a THANK YOU? Sulod sa mo sa serbisyo, kamang sa mo sa lapok, sulay ug 6mos nga kasakit, trabaho mo ug layo nga gamay ug sweldo ug tagsa ra makita ang imong pamilya para lang sa kaugmaon sa mga taw nga di nimo gani kaila, sulayi ang kinabuhi sa mga nanerbisyo, then come back here and tell to the world how our brothers in the PCG sucks. thank you
