I didn't realize fishing was an act of war. I don't even think Taiwan disputes that they were in our territory (that's why they're pushing for fishing agreement). What they object to was the shooting of their fishermen, which is a disproportionate response relative to the claimed wrongdoing. It has nothing to do with defending our territory, these fishermen weren't committing an act of invasion.

That taiwanese leader is Overreacting unya nagpahumot sa iyang mga tao. Gi gamit ni nga situation para magpabilib siya. Nag sabre rattling na dayon by conducting maritime exercises off the Phil coast.
all this is happening while nag investigate pa sila kung what really happened. If it is proven nga ang ilahang side gyud maoy to blame by attempting to ram our navy vessel, this situation could backfire against him.
Regardless, luoy ang mga kinabuhi sa mga OFW... thats the price our country pays for not being able to provide decent paying jobs locally. We are at the mercy aning uban countries as they use it as their leverage against us.
Ideally, our economy grows and there are just as good job opportunities here as there are in other countries.

RIA Novosti says the Chinese vessel was thereafter pursued by the Russian coast guard in a three-hour chase before being fired upon again, disabled, rammed, and finally boarded. Seventeen sailors in the Chinese vessel were captured unharmed, but another was reported to have fallen overboard in the ensuing chaos. Chinese and Russian media report that the missing sailor has not yet been recovered. Survival time for an unprotected swimmer in the cold Northwestern Pacific is very limited.

All I could say is that our coast guards needs to practice more,
to be able to shoot very well.
and WRONG it's not fishing but poaching.
Poaching is a criminal act, not an act of war or aggression. It is committed by citizens of countries, not their military. A civilian infraction does not merit a military response, otherwise the whole region will be plunged into war because no country can control all of its citizens. However, a country should be held responsible for the conduct of its military personnel.
Anyway, you're letting yourself get carried away. Russia incident involved China, not Taiwan. Confusing these two can be a very costly and deadly mistake, because Taiwan is a close ally of the U.S., while China is not. I think it's better to wait for the results of the investigation.
Nindot ni nga thread dah kay ma-klaro kinsa ning mga potential collaborators of future enemies of the state. sayon ra pag weed out unya ani nila when wartime does come knocking at our door. hehehehehehe! kusog unya kaau ni sila mag sul-ob ug buyot sa ulo nga mata ra ang makita. hehehehehe!
As stated before, what happened was law enforcement being executed by the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fisheries, both of which are CIVILIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. There was no mention of going to war, na dakpan sa pulis, unya ni dagan ug ni sukol. What will the law enforcement agency do? Sit back and twiddle their thumbs? Dili na lang unta mag dala ug pusil ang atong kapulisan ug coast guard no?
Also if I may add, katong ga huna huna na mu bira ug Taiwanese nationals diri sa atoa, you can not right a wrong with another wrong.
