correction? update maybe. co'z what i've said is based on experience with our Dell notebooks and desktops.Originally Posted by ant0n!
anyway anton... that's good then. as i've said. i've no problem with Dell units. i'm using a DELL unit for desktop. and HP for notebook.
oh.. not all IBM units are great. our company bought 1 IBM thinkpad and in just less than 1 month, the video malfunctioned. that's the first and last IBM we bought. sorry but i won't recommend IBM.
no need bay...we are still using DELL for one reason...FAST and EFFICIENT support (as in next business day on-site support). We have global corporate pricing agreement with Dell too....70% of our laptops are Dell, the rest IBM (100% of our desktop are Dell). IBM are mainly use for our sales people and other executes who are on the move (reason: we had bad experience using Dell on this category of users)Originally Posted by ant0n!
I had said this based on experience...just to give you an idea, in one of our office location we have around 180 users...2/3 are laptop users and 70% of that laptop are Dell...
model doesn't matter either....here are the models we are using, FYI:
For Dell notebook:
B5 Size - Latitude D400
A4 Size - Latitude D600
Workstation class - M20 / M70 (mostly for mobile CAD/CAE design engineers)
For IBM Notebook:
B5 Size - X40 Series
A4 Size - T41/T42
High performance class - T42p (though performance is not comparable to M70)
ahh ic..so were is your location bai? Are u in cebu? From wat company are u connected?
for your notebook needs that demands absolute mobility dell has a new model.

cool baya sad ang looks ani bay...we had purchased a couple of it already for evaluation/pilot purpose just to see if we can include it in our standard laptop lineup...more like L400 series descendantOriginally Posted by ant0n!

btw, i have a colleague in IT who work with Sony before and said that most of their development teams/groups are actually using Dell not Sony.....for the very same reason, fast and cost efficient support...not to mentioned that it's also cheaper than most known brands...
Outsourced Dell employee here, DELL systems.... hmmmmmmmmm... we hear all possible imaginable problem of every dell notebook and desktop (from pc hardware issues to cracks on the lcd out of the box to customers shooting thier DELL) everyday since we are thier backdoor tech support but in any case, there is a reason why they are America's biggest computer manufacturer, some units are really affordable and support is excellent. But Lately they have a new policies for the warranty of new systems and etc... some changes arent very consumer friendly compared as before
