I come from a line of people whom have this personal enmity towards Aguinaldo for killing one of our ancestors. This feud has become more of a distant memory as time goes by but still have relatives who look at the Red, White and Blue Marharlika flag with disdain and calls it the "
traitor's flag". Aguinaldo's way of taking and manipulating his way to power is a perfect caricature of modern Philippine politics. As for me I do not see the point of continuing these antiquated hate anymore but these facts and overshadowed part of our history needed to be exposed.
Same thing here. And at the end of the day the question is 'What for?' The good thing about this country is that we've become multicultural through natural means (ie. through factors of time and geography) and not by government or state coercion. We were not conditioned to be ultra sensitive about any particular ethnic background we belong to but to only one - as Filipinos.
