Let me get this straight, Almost every now and then i find people selling wild animals in the classifieds saying they have DENR PAPERS for the said animal. Given that the seller might have DENR papers for the wild specimen, the paper is non-transferrable as it is only an accreditation for the seller's entity and not for the animal. Facilities accredited by the DENR are either given a FARM permit or CWR (Certificate of Wildlife Registration) which is renewed every 3-5 years and if i am not mistaken DENR has withheld the further accreditation of new and some questionable institutions for this year. Meaning that if people here buy wild animals, they are obliged to go to DENR and get themselves accredited before they can own a wild specimen otherwise the animal is subject for sequestration by either the DENR personnel themselves or by any mere policeman. In any case that a wild animal is bred in captivity, the owner is bound by duty to report to the DENR any offsprings produced by their stock such that a captive bred certification may be issued and such is the only time one person can legally sell the captive bred animal but still the soon to be buyer must still get an accreditation.
