Thanks bro, I guess some istoryans like me would like to know the answer

i am not that familiar with CFI to answer your questions bro, but i am definitely familiar enough not to join it. all my officemates are members of CFI and i hear all their gripes about CFI all the time. dont worry bro, i will relay your questions to them.

If we only base it in the article, Tomas only QUESTIONED the CFI's patronage refund and interest from fixed deposits.
He also added that it should be investigated.
He also added that it MIGHT end up like the Legacy group.

Unlike the thread title where the TS actually claimed that TOMAS says CFI Cooperative is a scam.

Kana ha if we only use the article posted by the TS. Wa ko kahibaw unsa jud iyang gisulti sa Presscon.

If so, Tomas is only politicking.. Do I agree with his actions? Certainly not. I'm still gonna vote for him, though.
I think the TS is also politicking by saying that Tomas says CFI is a scam when in his article, it did not go that far.

The thread title is a scam as per links provided.. hehehe..

However tomas didn't say as it was define on the titles..

    ‘Risky’

Cebu City South District Congressman Osmeña, in his regular Friday press conference, questioned CFI’s 25-percent patronage refund and interest from fixed deposits.

“It’s a sign that it should be investigated because the safety of depositors is at risk,” Osmeña said.

He explained that the interest is too high and there’s a possibility that it (CFI) might end up like the Legacy Group and Rural Bank of Subangdaku that went into receivership by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp.

Osmeña also encouraged depositors to take their money out of CFI.

He said it would be used to help the gubernatorial bid of Rep. Pablo John Garcia (Cebu, 3rd district) of One Cebu Party.

Osmeña is the ally of Liberal Party’s gubernatorial candidate Hilario Davide III.

ngano na scam kaha ni basin ang utok ni tomas na scam pila na katuig ko na membro wala ko kbantay na scam

A cooperative is owned by its members, not a single entity.
Member ko aning CFI and so far, they are very prompt in giving dividends, wala ko nagkaproblema so far.
And one way to test kung scam ni or dili? If its a scam, di ni makasustain once dagko na kaayo ug funds ilang gipanghandle.
CFI also has bulk of its funds invested in Philam Asset Management, Inc. (PAMI). Ilang gipamanage sa PAMI ilang kwarta hence if modagan ni sila, a bulk of their money will be left in PAMI. Di pud ni nila madali2x ug redeem from PAMI since daghan ni ug signatories.
Another black propaganda, nothing more, nothing less.

Just a word of advice sa mga gabasa ani. Today is high time tungod sa elections so don't easily believe what you hear or see. Make your brain work a little by using a little logic.

Gi-invest pud tingale na sa PAMI,
naay control ang coop sa investment proceedings?

two federations that claim to have 60,000 members in cebu city endorsed yesterday the slate of mayor michael rama’s team rama for the may 13 elections.

The urban poor solidarity federation said they are supporting team rama because they believe the group will help uplift the lives of the urban poor.

“daghan na kaayo siya ug nahimo sulod sa tulo ka tuig. Usa niana, gi-tarong niya ang pag-implementar sa socialized housing program sa syudad (the mayor has done so many things in just three years. For one, he implemented the city’s socialized housing program well),” said the federation’s samsin chiu.

Reno ventusa, who is also a member of the group, said rama fast-tracked the approval of the subdivision plans of the different homeowners’ association in the city, allowing urban poor families to immediately own the titles to their home lots.

Ventusa recalled that before, it took three years to approve the subdivision plans. “kapila namo na gibalik balik sa city hall pero wa gyu’y nahimo. Pero karon, dali na lang kayo (we kept going to city hall before, but nothing happened. Now, things get done faster),” he said.

Evangeline abejo said that the urban poor solidarity federation is the umbrella organization of some 300 homeowners’ associations, with an estimated 50,000 members in the city.

Aside from the urban poor sector, the vendors who belong to the cebu city vendors’ association (ccuva) also endorsed team rama.

    Decent stalls

maria pino of ccuva said they are “strongly supporting” team rama because they believe that the group can improve the city’s markets and implement programs and projects that will address vendors’ needs.

Pino said she thanked the mayor for establishing the garbo asenso sumbanan alyansa (gasa) office, saying it has helped address some of the concerns of the vendors, such as providing decent stalls for them.

Pino said ccuva has an estimated 10,000 members.

Sought for comment on the endorsement, rama said he is thankful for the urban poor and the vendors’ support.

The group, he added, will continue to reach out and meet with people in the sitios to ensure their victory in the elections.

Rama is seeking his first reelection as mayor against a former political ally, rep. Tomas osmeña (cebu city, south).

Also yesterday, the urban poor groups signed a six-point covenant or social contract with the mayor, which the latter pledged to implement if he gets reelected.

    Promises

the pledges include land acquisition, community development and environmental protection; employment and livelihood; a social protection and services program; asset reforms and resource generation; and engagement and participation of the urban poor in good governance.

Under social protection, the covenant states there should be no demolition and eviction if there is no certificate of compliance with the urban development and housing act. Social protection also includes the provision of social security benefits, a health care system, and education for informal settlers and urban poor families.

Meanwhile, the urban poor solidarity foundation belied the claim of marlene paracueles of the urban poor alliance that the department of interior and local government has forfeited the p50-million fund for poverty alleviation programs intended for cebu city.

“to date, there is no document to prove the forfeiture of the said fund,” they said in a press statement.

The claim was that the dilg forfeited the fund because the city failed to submit a local poverty reduction action plan.
bahala pa tanan federations diha musuporta ni rama. Actions speaks louder than words. Makita ra na this coming election who will win. go ttype o wooohooo!!!! Bando osmena pundok kauswagan!!!!
