@ salbahis,
ayaw pagjudge if wala ka nakawork ug BPO. based lang jud sa imo post, klaro kaayo nga wala ka nakawork in a BPO company. BPO is NOT just limited sa call center but it just so happens lang na masdaghan ang call centers sa atoa that's why mao na general perception.
@ judgement,
pwede mn jud ka makawork ug call center maski dili ka graduate but when the time comes for promotion, based lang on the 3 call centers i've worked with before, if dili ka 4 year graduate, dili ka qualified ma-promote. yes daku ka sweldo compared to most workers but kutob raka dira, forever nalang ka sa entry level position. mao na difference sa degree holder over sa undergrads or nakafinish lang ug 2 years.
i don't know if nausab nani nga policy but that's the way it was kato nagwork pako sa call center.
@ TS,
there are several reasons why i like working for a BPO company. as i said, call centers jud ako experience for almost a decade actually.
obviously we are not going to work for free or in my case, for scraps coz i know my capabilities so di jud ko makadawat nga gamay ra ako sweldo so yes, working in a BPO company is mainly about the salary & it's very good benefits.
even entry level agents, be it customer service or tech support, masdaku jud ang salary over even experienced workers sa local industry. the benefits like medical coverage is way better than what most local companies are offering.
another reason why i liked working in call centers was the schedule. i know most people mao ni ila complaint na ang working hours is baliktad but in my case, i had always been a nocturnal person. even while nagskwela pako & had no idea about call centers coz wala pa mn jud mga call centers at the time sa college pako, i was always active at night.
i would study & do my research work at night then sleep most of the day if walay klase. so when the time came ni-graduate nako & was looking for work, timing kaayo nakakita ko opening sa sykes, that was way back 2003.
on the issue of people spending more than they're actually earning is one of the biggest challenges in having an above average salary. i know of a LOT of people nga nabaon sa utang coz nagpalabi pud sila ug gasto but that's another story.
going back to topic, lahi ra jud ang BPO over local companies coz in most cases, dili na kailangan mo-spend paka for certifications para ma-promote ka. promotions will be mainly based on your performance so maningkamot jud ka.
its either grad ka or dle grad, okay ra.. yaw lang mo ka strong nga stupid kaayo nga walay pulos ang pag skwela kay naa man uban nga nag skwela while ga work then other companies offer scholarship sad.. for example ang CVG..)
