Are we saved by faith alone, or do we need works, too?

Listen, we don't even deserve what we have right now. The blessings He has given us: Our eyes, hands, legs, family, money, food, etc. They are all given to us by God and they all belong to Him. Any day, in a blink of an eye, they can be taken away from us. So I cannot live this life thinking nothing is gonna happen to me let alone thinking that I'm gonna be handed paradise on a silver platter.

See?....you yourself know, you dont deserve anything from Him. So why would you think you deserve His pleasure when you even know that you are a sinner?

God is free to give a gift to mankind. Infact, He even gave us gifts already, your sight, senses etc. But the gift of eternity was supposed to be given when it was hindered by our sins ( Isaiah 59:2). Your humanity is not a hindrance because that is a vessel so you can contain God but your sins in your humanity has separated you to God and God must stay away from His gift to you because you have sinned. Until sin is dealt with, God would have no way to get into you to save you and impart eternal life into you.

So what....Bruce Lee was cool like Ip Man who was a great example of a human being. Whatever belief they had. Not JUST a martial arts philosopher. Some non religious ppl say smart things too u know.
It's not about believing in God....it's more about knowing something beneficial and putting it into action.
My hubby is a Bruce Lee fanatic and he told me he's atheist. I have a walking Bruce Lee information centre.

What I said is you dont deserve anything from God. Your good works doesnt make you deserving to receive the gift of eternal life because man is a sinner.

Same here. I have to really work everyday almost to sustain. BUT salvation is a GIFT. Which doesnt need to sustain. It is complete and finished. It was work done by God in Christ Jesus at the cross. It requires no man's effort. You only need to receive by faith alone.
