    My opinion ?

Read the article and know the story .

You are not even aware how media coul twist it nor you only resorted to the SELECTIVE STATEMENTS of the article that was posted by the TS .

Did you read the ENTIRE ARTICLE ? If you have then I can give you my opinion .

    @ REDEMPTION32

Here we go again with the "misunderstood" and "misquoted" crap!

A would-be pope being a priest molester protector? Wow! Can they get any lower than this?!?!?!

And oh, sometimes being IGNORANT is NOT reading between the lines. Sometimes it's being NOT aware of past deceptions, present hypocrisy and future misdeeds.

Congratulations on being a functioning blind all your life!
You are trying to establish something here that is TWISTED .

Did you read the article , the entire article ?

    ================================================== ================================================== ===========

I dont even know why you guys are so focused on the statement about the CHURCH nor the CARDINAL himself are PROTECTING the ALLEGED *** MOLESTERS when the Cardinal was only implying here that both VICTIMS and the ABUSER are in PAIN and both needs HELP , not your BARBARIC CONVICTIONS and RESERVATIONS .

And I shall post it again because people don't seem to read. Cardinal Tagle was one of the two Cardinals favored by SNAP to be the next Pope. SNAP is a group representing the victims that were abused by priests. Here's the article on why they picked him: Abuse victims' group names preferred picks for new pope - CNN.com

So I doubt that he'll protect the abusers. Anyway, a lot of people have misunderstood the article especially if you only read the post by the TS.

i admire this cardinal, i know he is a good person but with his statements, minus points, how dare this priests, why pity on these abusers, i am a born catholic and had been schooled to a catholic school when i was still studying, i know very well how hypocrites some of these priests if not mostly, know several priests who are no longer practicing their priesthood as a devotion but rather a profession ... latest hypocrisy is team buhay and team patay thing ... just because those politician stand against their stand they are supporting those politicians who are on their side KUNO, without even looking what kind of those politicians are ... so funny these people, how disappointing and these are the people who are suppose to make our souls healthy

well, even Jesus accepted us including whatever are inside the depths of our hearts...
Sin cannot be repaid with Sin, Pain cannot be healed with Pain, i think that is the point that the Cardinal stresses out.

however it doesn't mean that we should tolerate these sinfulness. Tagle was just stressing that we too Sin(light or heavy)
which somehow places us under the same circumstance of the abuser, because of certain circumstances that caused us to Sin(dili lang hinuon pang molestiya but sala gihapun)

Tagle was actually asking for a deeper call of understanding, where we do not only put ourselves on the victim's shoe but also to the abuser..(defeating Evil with Goodness) like kung ikaw maldita kaayo ka, unya imung giminalditahan kay buotan kaayo
diba mas dali pa ka makasabut ug mabuotan pud , kaysa atbangan pud kag maldita...

Again this DOESN'T MEAN that SIN and VIOLATIONS will be tolerated. Justice is to be executed but still with Love as we are called to Love and not to Hate
ingun pa nila, Hate the SIN but not the SINNER, we too have sinned and when we are in the state of sin, surprisingly we find ourselves agreeing to that saying..

Forgiving the offender and extending understanding DOES NOT MEAN altering Justice.
when the Cardinal said that Pedophilia is rather a mental illness than a crime ,He didn't mean that it isn't but rather more of a mental condition than a crime
in the same way that we treat others illfully, or we hate certain things and not know why, or we have Bad habits and attitudes we detest
because of some circumstances in the past and environment that caused our unpleasant behaviors which clearly is a psychological condition.
it is more of a mental situation over the idea nga Bati ta nga tao.

and if the Church or the leaders of the church at least chose to withheld justice to avoid Shame
then there is a higher COURT of JUSTICE that will JUDGE them, the HIGHEST one,
but that's not us..for we too shall be judged.

Tagle was trying to imitate Jesus while most of the readers seem to imitate the Jews. Lol
