Please state your source/s. The National Championship Games in Manila were played on February 4th 2007, (which was a Sunday, not A Weekday). The National Championships of Philippine Flag Football take place in Manila only once every two years. On alternating years they are held here in Cebu. The Natinal Championships are a special event in which the Cebu representatives (for the first time ever) captured and brought home the Male and Female National Championship Crowns home to Cebu. But there is always someone out there to try and twist things around.
As far as your other inaccurate accusations about the partying, hotel trashing. and so forth, you are merely speculating. The only fact about your post is the fact that you were not there.

It leads me to believe that this was merely personal when you indeed wrote in a different thread in this forum that you don't even care about politics, even where you live? So your post wasn't meant for the political aspect of it all then, correct?

Honestly speaking during all past administrations except radaza's administration the city of Lapu-lapu at that time was so poor in terms of economic development. The torrism was so lousy!

Mayor Radaza, aid face graft plaint

A COMPLAINT of grave misconduct has been filed against Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Arturo Radaza and his secretary for allegedly allocating funds for a government project that does not exist.

Leonardo Mondrano, Salvador Aldave, Avelino Sajol and one Remedios Durano, represented by lawyer Rolindo Navarro, accused Radaza of causing the construction of the Social Development Center building.

The government contract, they said, was awarded to the Ven Ray Construction, which completed the project in August 2003, and that Radaza, represented by Assistant City Engineer Fernando Taga-an, even issued a certificate of project completion dated Aug. 28.

On Sept. 1, Radaza issued a certificate of acceptance.

Another project

But barely three months after the completion and acceptance of the project, they alleged, Radaza allegedly caused the preparation and approval of a new program of work bearing the same project title and specification and allocated P396,030 for it to be carried out.

The allocation resulted in his secretary, Rolando Duero, preparing a purchase request for P396,030 last Dec. 8, 2003 and subsequent issuance of a purchase order for the same amount on March 10, 2004 of the following and the disbursement of a check for P395,815.

This is the second complaint against Radaza before the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas this month alone.

Last week, Radaza was sued for his alleged participation in an anomalous purchase of garbage compactor trucks in 2002.

Four men, who said they are the mayor’s constituents, filed the complaint “to protect the interests of the City of Lapu-Lapu and to raise the level of values and morality in the City Government.”

Garbage trucks

In their affidavit, Danilo Dungog, Servano Lampago, Pelario Potot and Alfredo Pono narrated how Radaza, last May 22, 2002, allegedly caused the preparation of a purchase order and acquisition of four garbage compactor trucks for P2.28 million.

The contract was given to RDAK Transport Equipment Inc., which offered the City four Fuso garbage compactors with “complete standard accessories, jack and tire wrench with a spare tire” for P570,000 each.

Radaza, last Jan. 20, 2003, issued a memorandum receipt acknowledging acceptance of the four units and, the following day, caused the preparation and approval of a disbursement voucher for the full payment of the items.

But in the same month of the following year, the Commission on Audit found discrepancies in the purchase.

The trucks delivered were allegedly not the ones stipulated in the contract. Moreover, one unit was smaller than the rest but, according to paper, costs the same.

One unit was also badly damaged and no longer serviceable at the time of the inspection that it had to be stored in the motor pool, the complaint alleged. (KNR)

Fake ballots in Lapu boxes

The opening of ballot boxes from Lapu-Lapu City by the Presidential Election Tribunal yielded fake ballots, according to Capitol consultant Pablo John Garcia.

Pablo John said he learned of this from his brother, Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President Winston Garcia, who spoke to one of the lawyers of Vice President Noli de Castro.

Provincial Election Supervisor Edwin Cadungog told Sun.Star Cebu he has yet to receive feedback about yesterday’s proceedings.

Both Rep. Clavel Asas-Martinez and her husband Celestino Jr., who ran for governor in 2004, could not be contacted through their mobile phones yesterday. A woman who answered a call to their house said both are out of the country.

The opening of the ballot boxes was in relation to the protest that former senator Loren Legarda filed against de Castro.

The camps of Legarda and de Castro both acknowledged the existence of the fake ballots found, said Pablo John.

But Pablo John maintained that the fake ballots were in favor of gubernatorial aspirant Martinez, who ran against Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, the Capitol consultant’s sister.

Sun.Star Cebu also called the Martinez’s son, Bogo Mayor Celestino “Tining” Martinez III, but he could not be contacted also. De Castro’s lawyer could also not be reached for comment.

Pablo John said that yesterday’s development would have a bearing on their counter-protest against Junie, who filed an election protest against Governor Garcia and questioned her victory in southern towns.

Results from Lapu-Lapu City are among those included in their counter-protest, Pablo John said, adding that they will ask for a recount of the votes for governor from the component city.

Governor Garcia lost by around 8,000 votes in Lapu-Lapu. (JPM)
