Depende ra sa company bay ug level sa imong aplayan.

But Python/Perl/Ruby should be paid the same as Java, .Net, C/C++. I dont know why people think that it should be cheaper and you cannot depend on 'scripting' language? It's about solving problem and productivity after all.

there is nothing special about Python programming compared to other programming languages. in fact, it should be the recommended programming language in IT schools to allow the students to think more about concepts and less about coding.

for want of salary, software developers using Python should be on par with other devs using other programming languages. it all boils now to company salary structure

you may of course get lucky on the compensation package if they desperately need a Python programmer

well kamesh, dli man tanan problem ma solve using python, and if pwedi man gani it is much slower than C or C++ since int runs on an interpreter man
so its better to have knowledge in a major language such as C/C++ and a little background on scripting language such as python or LUA

There are reasons to use Python or to use low level language. Low level languages can do everything but it takes too long to develop so it's not the right tool for everyone.

Of course you knew it that there should be balance between performance and productivity.

To my original point, if you are a sofware engineer, whatever language you use, it should have the same salary as java/net/c++ programmers. Perl/Python/Ruby can be difficult also if you have really huge system.

Also, nowadays, if you build a huge system, you have to mix up with a lot of languages with minimum of 3 languages like any of these: Javascript (node or client), CoffeeScript, C#/NET, HTML5, SQL, C/++ if you want optimize some functions, Java, PHP, XML, JSON, proprietary expression languages, DSLs, perl/python/ruby/lua/groovy/et al, and even templating engines looks like programming language too.

In short build up experience, pick 1 language, but be ready to code with another language if your company asked you to do it.
