^ its not the wattage of the PSU that will dictate the power consumption of the PC... but the actual VDC load itself... in other words, the total components used inside and powered by the PSU. the efficiency of the PSU will also matter big time (efficiency is the direct result of the actual VDC load as well as the direct effect of the actual efficiency of the PSU itself)... "Green" or ERP lot 6 capability also plays an important role in the electricity consumption and would always holds true when consuming electricity when the system is powered off but still plugged-in into the mains... it's the system's "Phantom" load...

Always remmember Intel CPU update trend is faster they made CPU to CPU generation with just slight changes. Just like a cell Phone.
AMD is doing same but not as much as intel that in a month your processor can be outdated.
look at these Intel processor successors Intel i5-3570 (3.4Ghz up to 3.8ghz) then later the add "K" Intel i5-3570k (3.4Ghz up to 3.8ghz).
And on i7 Intel i7-3770 (3.4Ghz up to 3.9 ghz) and later same way as i5 they add the "K" Intel i7-3770k (3.4Ghz up to 3.9 ghz).
Intel Frequencies are same and did not change.
    On AMD AMD FM2 A4-5300 (3.4 Ghz) then AMD FM2 A6-5400k (3.6 Ghz) then AMD FM2 A8-5600k (3.6 Ghz) then AMD FM2 A10-5800k (4.2 Ghz).
Now can you see the difference? Not just that there are more to see Like The Price.
About the performance both processors are good.

History based AMD is developing processor CPUs and GPUs while Intel Mostly develope just the processors and when they start of i-Core that the first time they start developing thier own GPU and CPU pack into one.

Theoretically thats right. but did you know that our power supply waste energy is ranging 20 to 50% based on 2007 EPA Energy start rating.
That is mostly I what to know why theory never mention waste energy.
Using clamp metter on the 220V AC source on my 500W psu will draw between 460-500W on my tommade PSU.

PSU are wasting power during active state if they are not efficient enough... can you post your HW? i'm also eager to know the actual power consumption of all of my desktops here, but, haven't bought a "Watt meter" yet...

K denotes Unlocked edition chip for enthusiast class users.
Intel® Desktop Boards: -K Series Processors
    Learn About Intel® Processor Numbers

intel would not want you to buy k series if u will not overclock, standard version of same tech and speed is more than good enough for you ( according to an article by intel ).make sense really.

but will aslo be happy if u buy K series.

    On AMD AMD FM2 A4-5300 (3.4 Ghz) then AMD FM2 A6-5400k (3.6 Ghz) then AMD FM2 A8-5600k (3.6 Ghz) then AMD FM2 A10-5800k (4.2 Ghz).
it's called saving resources, at the moment AMD just can't put any processor on just any market segment but they are doing it strategically placing processor that will surely sell and placed in between the segment that denotes practicality | price and performance

because they know they will just be wasting if they do venture into all segment. they know they suck at the moment.

Now can you see the difference? Not just that there are more to see Like The Price.
yes, the real world benchmarks has it, intel has the edge on performance.

About the performance both processors are good.
yes, they are good and fast already but not on same level.

History based AMD is developing processor CPUs and GPUs while Intel Mostly develope just the processors and when they start of i-Core that the first time they start developing thier own GPU and CPU pack into one.
you are not doing your assignment. you read more and you will know that both intel and AMD are developing CPU and Discrete GPUs and IGP on motherboards.

intel has IGP , from i810 to i975 if im not mistaken
intel has a PCI VGA card and AGP card and the unfortunately lackluster Laughabee

hot peskot core.very hot Pentium Ds

    very successful core architecture.

    introduces TICK and TOCK.

    reigning Processor Architecture, until now

that only AMD and fanboys denies as such.

AMD also has HAD IGP on its motherboard MCP then bought the ATI Radeon Company( Thank GOD! )
announces the development of Fushion chip to counter intel chip supremacy

    introduces HOT ( literally ) HD X1series and HD2xxx , both lacklusters

successfully introduces ATI HD 3series.. ( i just love the the HD3650 V3 extreme PCS and HD3870!)
    successfully introduces HD 4series

successfully introduces HD 5series as AMD HDseries ( the batmobiles ) etc.
infamous paper tiger faildozers , fires whole marketing department.

    very successfully introduces HD 6series
    very successfully introduces HD 7series

that intel is salivating to have since it had courted ATI..

    a good sample is the A10 5700

    quadcore | 3.40GHz | 4GHz turbo | 65W | HD7660 D

    isn't that a hotcake?

but if you will add discrete VC

might as well buy an i3 processor and get better throughput

    Intel Core i3 3220 vs AMD A10 5700

Salamat daan..
