the guy may have just been satirical and sarcastic about it, does that mean he has less intelligence or displaying antics? for you to ask him/her to get real, what for you then is the reality of the situation?

Probably a buoy or a marker strategically located around this area would help deter another tragedy such as this. Good to know that the salvage activity would soon be completed.
