Democracy is the best we have right now, but I hate politicians. I loathe them from the get-go. You have to have the biggest ego to be able to tell the people "You can trust your money with me. I will spend it well." Can you imagine the egotistic thought process that goes into that? You are basically telling the people to give YOU their hard-earned money with the promise of spending it wisely.

Now, how exactly do you earn their trust? How do you even convince yourself that you'll do a good job? You qualify yourself. That's what a sensible person would do, despite the megalomaniacal offer of being the safekeeper of public funds. You sit down, learn the ropes, earn a law degree, get some minor political experience until such time you're actually competent enough to do the job. That's the least you can do.

Now, what the f** are these unqualified idiots doing in these polls??

^ Even if there's a change of the minimum qualifications, even we ask for constitutional amendments, it's not an assurance to filter out incompetent people to run for office. Constant monitoring and awareness to voters are the keys. A very challenging endeavor to people like us who want change.

it will only take 1 person to change everything... i hope i can still witness that happening during my lifetime, not only for me but for my future kids, and their future kids, and so on...
