to old/veteran overclocker's/enthusiast's:
- anyone experienced their cpu died due to shortened life span due to overclocking?
- how long did your cpu's last?

better ask or search didto sa overclock 101 thread kay matubag na didto bai... suggestion lang.
i don't have plans to overclock, i just want to gather details. and having it's own topic is much better.
depende sa iyang LIFE sa processor. KALIT-KALIT lang ...example. hung-up, blue-screen, freeze, off-dayun ang pc, restart, etc.Originally Posted by Abaddon

forever
sa pila nako ka years ga build / repair ug computers.. ika usa ra gyud ko naka sugat ug processor nga naguba.. and it was not even overclocked. as far as i know there is no study that supports the theory that it shortens the lifespan of the processors. Processors don't have any moving parts, as such they ideally should last forever. ang usually makaguba is overvoltage, surges etc. but for the sake of argument lets just say.. a typical processor lifespan is 7 years. you oveclock it and say, it has a lower projected lifespan of 4-5 yrs. are you really going to wait that long before upgrade your computer?!?!?
