router to wifi router connection.. help please!

Good morning istoryans!

nag connect ako ng wiri router to a router.. ok naman na yung wifi kaso walang internet access tapos nung kinonek ko directly from router to pc eh meron naman.. anu kaya ang mali? natry ko na lahat ng color coding sa cable ayaw pa rin eh.. straight through at crossover.. please help and ask if you need more details for this issue.. thanks!

wired router (LAN port) > (LAN port) wifi router note ayaw e connect sa wan port ang imong wifi nga router.

TS, what's your ISP? If it's possible to get rid of the wired router, try to do so. Redundant na kasi. Not unless, you are using a modem/router, most common on DSL connection, ayan sundin mo ang diagram ni bro tsunade. Disable mo DHCP sa wireless router mo to act as a wireless access point alone.

Try ug configure balik sa imo wifi router set it to dynamic ip butangi lang ug password para wala maka sulod lain...hehehh!! maayo unta nka tabang gamay..

hmm.. cascading routers..

sayon ra na TS..lisod lang e explain diri..u will need to familiarize urself with the WAN & LAN ports..

WAN port is the Internet port, isolated ni xa na port sa imu router & what's connected to the modem.. while LAN ports are usually the 4 ports labeled 1, 2, 3, 4 at the back of your router..

by the way, why cascade routers when you can bypass the wired router and connect the wireless router directly to the modem?

anyway, kung akoy mo setup ani, it's like this:

open the UI of the wireless router. disable the DCHP server. your main DHCP server (the one who gives out the ip addresses to your computers) will be the wired router. your wireless router will only act as an access point (for wifi). **make sure the IP address of the wireless is within the range of the wired router. If your wired router has an IP of 192.168.1.1, make sure the wireless router has an IP address of 192.168.1.254.


modem to the Internet or WAN port of the WIRED router..another cable from the LAN (1, 2, 3, or 4) of the wired router to the LAN (1, 2, 3, or 4) of the wireless router.
