Ang title ini nga thread is Davide-Magpale or Garcia-Durano or to elaborate further this thread should be about Junjun Davide - Agnes Magpale or Pablo John Garcia - Boboy Durano. But why is it nga ang pinaka starring diri nga thread is Gwen Garcia? She is no longer running for governor and as proudly pointed out by many, she has been sued many times over. Her day in court is coming and she will get what is coming to her. So why are many here still obsessed with talking about her? If she is guilty of all the allegations, then ma priso siya, di ba?

But what about the candidates for governor who will lead our province for the next 3 years at least? Why don't we talk about them? Both have distinguished fathers and both carry their fathers' names. Both have been in public service so both have records to speak off. What has each of them done while in public service? What are their accomplishments in their respective positions? What have they done to help Cebu? What are their plans for Cebu, if elected governor? How do they envision Cebu in 5, 10 or 20 years? Hopefully, these two candidates will stand on their own merits and not rely on their fathers' good names to propagate their candidacies. These are the questions we should be asking them both to answer. I just hope people in this forum realize that the future of Cebu rests upon the decisions we Cebuanos make in the coming elections.

Is a debate really necessary? No, for as long as both candidates give us the answers to the questions above as well as other questions that will affect Cebu. Do we need to keep revisiting allegations about the present suspended governor? No, because the legal process has already been started and the wheels are in motion so let's not waste our time on her. She will get what she deserves. Lets hear what Junjun Davide and Pablo John Garcia have to say about their plans for Cebu whether in a debate or whatever form they choose for as long as they make themselves heard and not just keep silent.

Like you, I am new in this forum (or at least you appear to be new). But for sure, I am nobody's minion. I don't know if you are. My basis for comparing Junjun and PJ is that I have know both of them for a very long time, over 20 years, in fact, long before either of them was involved in politics. I have worked with both of them and count them both as my friends. And they are both decent human beings to say the least. And I do believe that if elected, both of them will work for the good of Cebu. Here's why I prefer PJ to Junjun. PJ is more decisive and more intelligent. Not saying Junjun is dumb, just saying that PJ is more intelligent. PJ is more charismatic and has much better people skills, whether dealing with the masa or the upper crust of society. Pj has a much better grasp of the law and has done a lot more as congressman than Junjun has as counselor. And PJ is totally his own person, believe it or not. Junjun is really also a good person and will probably do a decent job if elected governor but at the moment, he has not much more than his father's good name to lean on rather than any tangible accomplishment. If you ask me what is my basis for all these statements, these are opinions I have formed on both of them from over 20 years of knowing both of them. I know that many here in this thread will vehemently disagree with me so let's just agree to disagree. I am entitled to my own opinion just like you are entitled to yours.

From what I see after reading all the posts in this thread, I believe that this is not a place for healthy constructive discussion on issues or on who would make the better next governor and vice-governor of Cebu. While this thread does contain some very relevant information from opinionated and intelligent posters, it is very obvious that some posts here are malicious, irrelevant, abrasive, in very bad taste and downright irresponsible. It is also very obvious these thread does not attract very many posters and viewers in part because the vocal minority who post here are clearly paid hacks by politicians.

I have thus decided to be brutally frank in this post as this will be my last in this thread, at least until after the elections when I will return to gloat if my fearless forecast will come true. In the meantime, I will go and enjoy all the other sections of this forum. My fearless forecast to win in the coming elections is PJ Garcia for governor and Agnes Magpale for vice-governor. By the way, if any of you who are so sure that Davide will win would like to place a friendly bet on it, just pm me so we can make arrangements.

We vote for davide because we want change. We are not paid here. We can support ourselves, most of the thread starters here are working. Is it not that if we are accused of an utterly baseless and groundless charge we would naturally be moving heaven and earth to get to the bottom of things the fastest we can and have the whole silly thing be done and over with? The goal being to clear our names the soonest we can?

That is why, “flight is indicative of guilt.” Going by these principles, is gwen’s latest act of trying to delay the case against her by filing a motion for deferment of her arraignment indicative of guilt or innocence?
