well i think a church wedding is more important, since we are a catholic country,so we have to abide by our religious rights.but nowadays,we have to be practical,we all know that to have a wedding would cost a great amount of money,so people settle for the civil weddings, which is also ok.but then after a few months or years, they should ask for God's blessing, and have a church wedding.

Both, ingon pa sa ko stepmom, for a marriage to really flourish kinahanglan ug blessing ni Lord. Based on Christian faith ang marriage nga civil ra mura ra kuno na nagpuyo-puyo.
Mga pre, If you got married thru a Church then there's no need to go for a civil wedding. In Philippine Law you can only register a marriage certificate once in our National Statistics Office. So whatever comes first is your legal document whether it's civil or church. so kung married ka civil first, then dat's you legal document for legal purposes kay dat's the only certificate registered sa NSO. But ako? Church is the best....................

If you're a Catholic, better to have a Church wedding officiated by a priest authorized by the government. No need for a civil wedding anymore.

I really don't know why lots of people go through a civil wedding for no apparent reason.

The main reason why perople go for a civil wedding is because it's cheaper. Financial Difficulties bro!

Bitaw, to be honest, I've heard that reason, but I don't like it. I don't think we should save the church wedding for later just so we can make it extravagant. That's hardly a Christian attitude. For me man gud, there are only three important people at a church wedding: the groom, the bride and God(represented by the priest, okay four people if you like). So bahala na if you don't have a budget, if you're catholic, church jud!

Unlike some protestant sects, a civil wedding has the same effect before God as a church wedding. I like their concept, though I would be uncomfortable with it if I was one of them.
