di man siguro na need e overhaul dayun after three years brad especially kung imong sakyanan maayu pagka maintain. naa say uban nga di sad ingon ana kata-as ang mileage after three years. kana nalang ilang gibuhat nga periodic check sa emission og kanang MVIS which by the way, most of their equipments are not functioning, mata-mata lang og check, is more than enough.

First off surplus cars aren't at all totally bad and to be precise they even run better than some local unit cars. They should leave the previous registered owners alone and focus on the new surplus units that come in. They should be concerned with the docks and customs that let these type of cars that come in. They should stop the source first before cleaning up the streets. How would we know if the car is illegally registered,since owners currently hold legitimate documents of registration? If they want road quality vehicles then maybe they should be strict when vehicles are renewed not wipe off vehicles off the street. Well there are some countries that are more strict about renewal; every 5 years the owner has to change into a newer vehicle, road quality checks, and so on. For environment issues, The PUJ and PUV's are doing the environmental damages. LTO hasn't really explained the point of the enforcement of the new law. They should explain first their objective with this new law.

I think ang pattern ani kay the same sa Europe hehe, car manufacturers na mismo ang mu MVIS sa ilang mga kaugalingong mga units (Privatized Style) in that way sila may master sa ilang mga kaugalingong mga units, in that way ma regulate na ang mga palusot kay mismo na mga car manufacturers ang kasuhan if ever mu miss sila or mupalusot ug di na safety nga mga sakyanan resulting to an accident, unfair man sad gud sa mga local dealers sa atu-a kay nagbayad sila ug saktong mga taxes on importing thier units thus making thier units more expensive than the surplus ones, ang naka unfair lang sad sa mga importers kay they claim thier units as "Spare Parts" to evade custom taxes, then pag abot diri sa atu-a assembolon ug balik then sell it to the public at a lower price than the local dealers, sa tan-aw ninyo di ba panglalamang man na? assembling chop2x units jeopardizing safety, converting it from right hand to left hand again jeopardizing safety ug pamintaha sa mga mismo local car dealers nga nagbayad ug saktong mga buwis, (old fashioned tax evasion) local car dealers are only claiming thier rights kay unfair man sad na para nila di ba? in this way murag mabawasan na gyud ang mga pangwarta sa mga taga customs ani nga style apil pud ang mga taga LTO makuha-an na sad ug pangwarta ani kay murag ang mga car dealers na man ang mudecide kung i renew pa ang mga units nila or dili, so murag 2 birds in one shot ni hehehe, opinion ra sad nako ni ha, murag nakarelate na ko sa pattern.....

I agree with Khouj about these importers who intentionally declare these cars as surplus spare parts to evade paying bigger taxes. It is absolutely unfair not only to local car dealers but also to other businesses and even to us low-paying employees who pay the right taxes.

But then again, I pity those victims of these car smuggling/surplus trade including my own family. Most of us who has bought these kind of vehicles don't even know that these are illegally registered. Why? Because the LTO, DTI and BOC didn't even bother warn the public about the existence of EO 156 and much to our dismay, they just let these surplus car importers/dealers to multiply in number. Who would have thought that these cars are illegal when we can see surplus display centers line up along our highways with business permits and complete car registration papers?

If worst comes to worst, our government should have a kind of amnesty and honor the renewal of the cars already registered before the final decision of the Supreme Court was handed down. Then let this "dumb" agencies do their thing to completely stop this illegal importation and registration of used cars.

The sad thing in our country is that consumer protection is neglected. It is always the businesses and the powerful who get protection and immunity. "Kami na gani ang biktima, kami pa jud ang dakpon, kami pa jud ang mawagtangan (ug sakyanan ug kwarta)".

I think the main issue their is nakuhaan ug dakong porsyento sa sales ang local units sa surplus units ky barato mn ang surplus, sauna mahal kau ang local units, karon raman ni anam ug barato ang local units nga stiff kau ilang competition.. paubsanay ug presyo

regarding sa condition, ang tag iya/ driver sa sakyanan ang responsible ana, dapat ma edukutar kung unsaon pag atiman

Road safety--- it takes 2 tango.
1 is vehicle, dapat condition ang tibuok sakayan kung i pdadagan sa kalsada, dapat kabalo ang driver sa basic, water, oil, brake etc..
2. driving habit, kani murag self explanatory nani cya, mga driver nga wala idea sa mga road signs ug traffic rules/regulations, mostly kanag mga driver sa PUV

They say the surplus vehicle trade is killing new vehicle sales in the Philippines.

In my opinion, it actually sound like an excuse from the car manufacturer/dealer for the low sales volume.

Think about it for a minute... do you think majority of the population who bought a surplus vehicle can afford a new one with the large price difference between the two? Does banning the registration and sales of surplus 'Honda Fit' (sample lang) increase the sales of the Honda Jazz? I don't think so. Mahitabo ani mag motor nalang ta tanan
