Ok Hizuka takes points for being mr. funny, but here's the reason:

Red photons travel through the earth's atmosphere relatively unimpeded, because of their relatively long wavelengths. Blue photons however, kay shorter man ang ilang wavelengths, bump around, scattered by the molecules of air in our atmosphere. by the time they reach your eye, they appear to be coming from everywhere in the sky, and thus making the sky appear blue. (from Phil Plait's "Bad Astronomy")
