    1. Definition of Terms:
      1. Originality: Art that is of original value, fresh and novel, or has not been seen in the industry.
      2. Creativity: Artwork should be well thought of, exude creative work unique to the artist and exhibits artistic style and expression.
      3. Effectiveness as an Ad: Entry should be an advertising material with impact on its target audience and is perceived as excellent and memorable.
      4. Content: Entry should exhibit what is positive about the Philippines and the choices of themes presented. It should show how the Filipinos and the Philippines can rise to the challenge of greatness.

    2. Contestant Categories:
      1. Students/Amateur: Students shall be defined as those currently enrolled with and are bona-fide students of primary/secondary/tertiary or other post-school or vocational educational institutions. Amateurs shall be defined as those who are no longer students, but create digital art works as a hobby and not as their main source of income.
      2. Professional: Shall be defined as those who are employed or earning as digital media artists or creator of ads, videos, or digital art for commercial use.

    3. Contest Categories:
      1. Motion Graphics
      2. Print

    4. Prizes: Up to P3,000,000 worth of cash and prizes.

    5. Mechanics: ELIGIBILITY
      1. The contest is open to all Filipino Citizens, residing in the Philippines only.
      2. Employees of Globaltronics and its affiliates, contest board members, and judges, as well as their respective relatives up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity are not eligible to join.
      3. Only entries by individuals will be accepted.
      4. All winning entries shall become the property of Globaltronics, Inc. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE WORK
      5. The contestants will create an advertisement (1 minute animated video or A3 sized poster) based on the following themes of his/her choice:
        • KULTURA KO TO. Filipino Culture - showcase the unique Filipino culture and character that can be emulated by the rest of the world.
        • PINOY PRIDE PROFILES. People – who have influenced how Filipinos think and do things in a positive and life-changing way.
        • JUAN PLACE, JUAN MIND. Communities, Places of Interest or Organizations – feature communities, places of interest or organizations that collectively, have improved lives of their stakeholders in a game-changing manner.
        • KUSINA NI MARIA. Food – interesting food or cuisine from the various regions of the Philippines that has made it a distinctly Filipino and a symbol of national pride.
        • BUY FILIPINO. Products – products of Filipino ingenuity or creativity that have created waves across the archipelago or the Asian region that every Filipino would be proud of.

      6. The contest entry must showcase the contestant’s mastery of the following:
        1. Motion Graphics/Animated Video:
          1. Video Editing (Mandatory)
          2. Creative use of Visual Effects/Animation (Mandatory)
          3. Layout Design (Mandatory)
          4. Videography (Optional)
          5. 3D Modeling/Animation (Optional)

        2. Print:
          1. Layout Design (Mandatory)
          2. Photo Manipulation (Optional)
          3. Vector Graphics (Optional)
          4. Photography (Optional)
          5. Digital Painting (Optional)
          6. 3D Modeling/Animation (Optional)

        Mandatory - Must be showcased in the contestant's entry
        Optional - Depends on the contestant whether or not he/she wants to showcase this specific skill
      7. The contestant is required to use Adobe After Effects as their main editing software for Motion Graphics and Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator as their main editing software for Print, but they are allowed to use other software for specific purposes other than being their main editing software. (e.g Maya or 3ds Max for 3D modeling, Photomatix Pro or Artizen for HDR Photography, etc.)
      8. Contest Entry
        1. Motion Graphics/Animated Video:
          1. Resolution:1280 x 720
          2. File output: h.264 (mp4)
          3. No templates allowed
          4. All material must be original (e.g. Videos used)
          5. Audio is required

        2. Print/Poster:
          1. Size: A3
          2. File output: JPEG
          3. All material must be original (e.g. Photographs used)

      9. For photographs or any other copyrightable materials, the contestant is strongly advised to use photographs/materials, taken or created by them. If not, the contestant should at least acquire permission to use the photograph/material from the original author. Globaltronics will not be liable for any copyright infringement and other claims.
      10. For any audio or music used in the entry, if not originally created by the contestant, he/she must have, or should acquire authority to use such audio. Globaltronics will not be liable for any copyright infringement and other claims SUBMISSION
      11. All entries must be submitted through email to globaltronics.digitalmedia@gmail.com, along with the fully accomplished registration form and all the necessary documents. Requirements

        2. Duly accomplished registration form which can be downloaded from the Globaltronics’ Facebook Page
        3. Necessary documents:
          1. Student (S)/Amateur (A)
            1. School ID (S Only) or Valid government issued ID (A Only)
            2. Proof of Current Enrollment (S Only)
            3. Proof of residence (S and A)
            4. Affidavit of Original Work, attesting to the originality of their work and holding Globaltronics free and harmless from all liabilities in case of copyright infringement and other claims. (S and A)
            5. Text file or document listing down all copyrightable materials owned by another author. (e.g Photographs, Audio, etc.) (S and A)

          2. Professional
            1. Valid government issued ID
            2. Proof of residence
            3. Certificate of employment
            4. Freelancers will need a certification from any company he/she had created projects for as a freelancer, certifying that he/she is indeed a freelancur.
            5. Affidavit of Original Work, attesting to the originality of their work and holding Globaltronics free and harmless from all liabilities in case of copyright infringement and other claims.
            6. Text file or document listing down all copyrightable materials ow~ed by another author. (e.g Photographs, Audio, etc.)

      12. All the necessary documents and registration forms must be attached to the email, except the actual entry, should the file be too large as an email attachment.
      13. For large files, the use of third party file sharing websites is strongly recommended. Upon receipt of the entry, the contestant will receive a confirmation email from the organizer of the receipt of his or her entry.
      14. The subject of the email should be as follows: [Contest Category]/[Contestant Category]/[Theme]/[Title]/[Last Name, First Name, M.I]
        e.g: Motion Graphics/Amateur/Kusina ni Maria/Ang Lechon ni Juan/Dela Cruz, Juan, J
        The body of the email should be as follows:

      15. The filename of the entry should be as follows: [ContestCategory]_[ContestantCategory]_[Theme]_[Title]_[LAST NAME First Name M.I]
        e.g: MotionGraphics_Amateur_Kusina ni Maria_Ang Lechon ni Juan_DELA CRUZ Juan J
      16. All necessary documents must be labeled as is: e.g: “Registration Form”, “School ID”, “Affidavit of Original Work”, etc.
      17. All information entered in the registration form and affidavit of original work must be handwritten and scanned or encoded with the digital signature embedded.
      18. The entries will go through a preliminary screening process for any deficiencies or discrepancies, after which the participant will receive a qualification or disqualification email.

        All entries must be submitted on or before February 15, 2013. Any extension in the contest deadline will be announced in the contest website or the Facebook page.
      19. Each contestant may send only one (1) entry per category. That means that a contestant may choose to enter both categories (Motion Graphics and Print) JUDGING
      20. The top 20 entries per category will be chosen at the first stage of judging.Once contacted, contestants are required to submit the raw file for examination and verificationto ensure that content is 100% original.
      21. The Top 10 and the Top 20 entries will be judged based on the following criteria Criteria for Judging:
        Originality 22.5%
        Creativity 22.5%
        Effectiveness as an Ad 22.5%
        Content 22.5%
        TOTAL 90%
      22. From the top 20 entries, 10 entries will be chosen per category and will be uploaded to the Globaltronics Facebook page for voting. Names of the winners will be announced through print ads and LED billboard displays/ Contestants will also be informed through email and through phone.

        The top 10 contestants will be invited to the awards night.
      23. 90% of the total score will come from the judges, and the 10% will be coming from the total social media likes and shares garnered by the each entry.
      24. Criteria for Judging:
        Originality 22.5%
        Creativity 22.5%
        Effectiveness as an Ad 22.5%
        Content 22.5%
        TOTAL 90%
      25. There will be 4 winners per category: the top three per contestant category, and the people’s choice for each contestant category. A total of 16 winners will be awarded
        Student/Amateur – Print:: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, People’s Choice
        Student/Amateur – Motion Graphics: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, People’s Choice
        Professional – Print: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, People’s Choice
        Professional – Motion Grqphics: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, People’s Choice
        The top three will be based on the overall score, while the people’s choice will be solely based on the number of likes and shares on the online voting.
      26. Awarding shall be held at Eastwood Mall Plaza on March 15, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. onwards.
      27. Should contestant fail to attend the Awarding Ceremonies, he/she may claim prizes within 60 days. OTHER REGULATIONS
      28. Important updates such as: updates on the mechanics, prizes, etc. will be posted in the Globaltronics Facebook page at www.facebook.cm/GlobaltronicsInc. Ignorance of important updates or announcements will not be a valid excuse for not compliance in case of disqualification.
      29. The Contest Board reserves the right to withdraw any award and/or prize at any time should the contestant violate any of the rules and regulations of the competition, or if the Contest Board deems, in granting the award to the contestant may damage the image and reputation of Globaltronics.
      30. Globaltronics reserves the right to use the name and photo of the contestant and his/her entry free of charge for any broadcast, telecast, print or any other medium.
      31. Failure to comply with the above rules and regulations shall automatically disqualify the contestant.
      32. By submitting an entry, the participant agrees to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the competition.

    Just an update on this:

    Just a friendly reminder to those who are planning to join the National Digital Arts Awards. Slots are still available for our early submission raffle. Remember: only the first 100 contestants with complete entries will get the chance to be the proud owner of a brand new iPad Mini!

    Here are a few more important reminders:

    1. Deadline is EXTENDED to April 15, 2013.

    2. Please have your Affidavit of Original Work NOTARIZED.

    3. Questions answerable by the mechanics will no longer be entertained.
