Christmas Break!

Hi all!

Realized it's been over three years since I wrote the heartbreak poem titled "Fading." It's been a long time and heartbroken is so NOT me anymore, hehe, so I just gotta write the afterword.

Fading

‘You’re just a memory,’ I tell myself
Drowned by the tears in my heart
Blurred by the chaos in my mind
Slowly drifting into my subconsciousness.

Closing my eyes to think, there's no recall
Promises of love dissipate
Warmth of hugs and kisses escape
Quickly fading into the twilight of my dreams.

I see you now and then; it’s quite strange
Perceived as exotic, conflicting
Never meeting those elusive eyes
Not a glimpse of your soul without defenses.

What used to be ‘us’ is in the distant
Growing dimmer by the day
You’re just a memory, I tell myself
Laid to rest in the abyss of forget.

The abyss of forget
Remaining in the dark
Is a place of pain and dis-ease
Of you and me; you against me
A realm of duality

In the light
It is a vast empty space
Holding all possibilities--
Loving kindness, for one
The bridge over the great chasm

In this enlightened state I choose to see
You who’s always been a part of me.
