it should be at least 20 percent of your total bill.

for me, personally, if I really love their food and genuine ang courtesy sa staff, they would get more than 20% of my total bill.

my basis are the following:

1. courtesy
2. efficiency of service
3. food quality

it may be true that they are paid to serve you but most of them are paid below minimum wage or less than what they are really worth, so that 20 or 50 pesos you tip them may make their day already even if its not that big.
