Politics aside, I have to commend the president for this. And though it's true that there were many others that were also hit at that time, Nicole is the only one known to all of us. I just choose to see the symbolism in it that when the culprit of Nicole's plight will be caught because others choose to speak out, then others may also speak out- reward money or none.

Your opinion is well taken. However, the government does not aim to reach out and help every single family. Nicole's death and the media's outcry is a symbolism of how much WE HATE irresponsible gun owners and how much we want to go after them. As they say, you gotta strike when the iron is hot. And the girl's death is the scorching iron.
