early morning cardio is better so you could benefit on what they call "afterburn" effect. studies show that after working out, the body will continue burning more calories for the rest of the day. Imagine burning more calories while you're in the office or watching TV. however, if you do your cardio at night, the afterburn will not take effect by the time you sleep as your body shifts to hibernation mode (slow metabolism)

as for the weight lifting, it's better to eat 1hr before, as you will need that energy for lifting. for me, working out at night is more benificial since it is not on the lifting that you acquire bigger muscles, it is when you rest after workout and allow your body to recover. the whole idea is like this: when you lift weights, you're actually tearing down your small muscles. by the time you eat and rest, your body will replace those muscles with bigger ones. that's why it is also important that you regularly increase the weight you lift (progressive overload). because as your muscles get bigger, it will take heavier loads to tear them out. If no muscles are torn, there's nothing to replace, then you dont gain anything.

yes you do get hungry, but what is 20mins of cardio? after that, you may eat your breakfast. the idea here is to do your cardio while your body is in hibernation mode. in that way, you'll be burning more fats than carbohydrates. because as soon as you eat your breakfast, your body switches back to normal when it will likely burn carbs than fats. just keep yourself hydrated during you early morning cardio...that will do just fine

jogging, biking, sprinting or you can go to AskMen.com, tan-awa didto kung unsa na cardio pinaka-effective or ganahan nimo. as much as possible, kanang grabe mu-burn ug calories at a lesser amount of time. jogging is my preference. basta, make it as brief and as effective as possible. sometimes gani, i do sprinting instead of jogging kung alanganin na ko sa oras. your 20mins for jogging can be replaced with 5-10mins of sprinting. that's the same burn at a lesser duration, saves time. basta for me, 20-30mins of cardio 3 times per week is already enough
