anything naa'y wear and tear (either mechanical or electronic part)... all electronic components are measured with MTBF... Mean Time Between Failures... the ICs are also measure in FIT (Failure in Time)... naa pa daghan measurement ani nila... i just mentioned 2 of them... pero, theoretical values lang ni sila tanan for reference purposes. ang mo matter kay ang actual use... ang uban, ma timingan sila... ang uban pud, dili... pero, dili ni "Hit & Miss" sya ha... supported ni w/ Reliability Test data and Eng'g analysis tanan...

so naguba sya kai gi defrag(or gigamitan defrag program)? or as what u have said-na timingan na sa lifespan sa hdd or tungod sa lain rason(usually poor power, turning off while hdd is busy etc)

Naa sad lain rason kanang mo kalit ka crash ang hdd kanang mag kuto-kuto sa sulod, ingun sila kanang e turn off ug kalit while busy or unsa pana diha, pero na fix na cguro ni nga issue kay kasagaran pc ron sa cafe kalitun ug off, kasuway me 1 day panahon sa pentium 4 ang hdd ni crash na, after nailisan wala naman, na timingan lang jud cguro...

@TS: mura ubos ra jud kaayo ang ram bro dako pa ram sa sko CP ana hehehe daghan man jud reason for laggs, but sa issue sa imo PC ubos raka ug memory also on HDD either fragmented na kaayo or naa na problema sa HDD, naa ko experience sa ako usa ka PC before a pentium D also, with 2GB ram and VC ATI Radeon 4350 1GB, and HDD niya naa problema kay nagtingog naman pero wala nako paliti dayon kay student pa lagi wala pa money so my bro been using it for almost 6 months notice jud niya kay slow boot-ups, and very slow loading game pero kung nagduwa na siya wala man lagg hinay lng jud ang loading time.

Naa jud ko na kaila sauna around 1st year college pa ko, boastful kaayo sige daw niya reformat iya pc every 6 months man guro kay para paspas pirmi iya PC kay mohinay man daw, kani pa lagi ignorante pa ta tuo sad ko, so as I learned more I realized amaw-amaw man diay to tawhana gara pa jud kaayo to siya nga maayo daw siya mo hack hahaha
Now ever since I assembled my current PC wala pa jud tawn nako na reformat sukad maintain lng jud wala man mo reduce iya performance its been 3 years na

butangi nag 4 gig na ram, nya e update imong service pack ..

murag v4 naman cguro last ang XP.... pero mas nindot e upgrade nimo to win7...

sp3 ang last sa xp., pag upgrade ana., then imong memory brad., palit og mas dako2x., kai 256mb ang stick ana.,. naa pmn guro available nga 1gb/stick ana. goodluck brad!
