duda ko ang main target ani is dili pareho as "workstation" na pang office, adto ni punta sa mga machines like atms, POS terminals, digital signages ug uban pang nanginahanglan ug processing unit. wherein pede ra sya matago ug ma minimize ang total size sa machine.

^ mura'g dili ni viable for a POS machine bro. mahal man kaayo ni. pwede ra ang mga lesser or embedded products ang para sa POS... diri nag focus ang VIA... usual OS nila kay linux based pud kay gaan ra...

ning sulod ang intel on their atom and AMD on their Zacate sa ani na market segment pero, mura'g VIA lang gihapon ang dako'g share kay mas barato man ang offering nila... dili man need ug powerful set-up pud ni sila man gud... as of now, don't know in the future...

posible sad. naa pud ni 2 ka version ang x5a ug x7a. ang x7a maoy power ang x5a "normal". ang most probable reason nga i-embed ni sya is ang number of ports at the same time ang iyang pagka modular meaning ang customer pede niya ma custom as to how many ports iya gusto or unsa na type na ports.paslakan lag custom na I/o board daug na.

and sometimes machine like ATMs need a high performing computer mainly for the purpose of "multitasking" kay daghan man gud input devices ana like dip reader, motion sensor, camera, keypad,touch sensor etc.

^ as of now bro, kaya pa sa mga embedded CPUs ang HW requirement sa ATMS... kay lagi, Linux man gud ang mga OS nila. but, wala man ni limit hinoon... kun need sa business, pwede ra gyud... if more ang kita-on, dapat, more ang i-invest... but then again, it will boil down to the need and not on the nice to have...

kani na product, "boutique product" na sya. intended for the "high level enthusiast". naa diri ang mga consumer na daghan "nice to have"... daghan ang wants more than their need... mao ni ang ilahang i-penetrate na market segment. mahal ni na product for sure kay nag bayad ta sa IP (intellectual property) sa Company na nag create nya... for now, dili pa ni sya pang massa...

@loyd. I think naka mention sila na mo dagan sab ni linux. I think ang customer sad ani di gyud yano lang ga jamjam sa business para mo kuha ani hahaha

ATM/POS/checkout machines/kiosks makers like IBM, wincor nixdorf, NCR, Fujitsu etc can afford this. mao cguro ni ila target customers. I'm working under 1 of these companies I've mentioned. hehe wink =)

^ yup, mo dagan gyud na'g linux bro... kaso, ang cost lang... even big companies will not invest on an expensive project if naa sila ma kuha na mas barato. then can provide what those expensive option can provide. in any business, there is a decision analysis. but then again, depende na nila gyud kun unsa ang ilahang ma decide-dan... sa mga companies na gi pang mention nmo, so far, VIA ug Atom na ilang gipang gamit na POS ron. naa pud sa AMD pero, wla na sila mo invest gani ug higher CPUs for their intended application... i might be wrong on these assumption of mine but, mao man akoang nahibaw-an sa gamay nakong kaban. some customers of our ICs here have their application on their POS products... and most of them are using VIA processors and Intel Atom SKUs...

if affordable ni, for sure, daghan nato dri ang mo palit... ang downside lang, dali ra gyud makawat as mentioned nila earlier... kaubo gyud... hehehe...
