yes 'coz that's what the church is telling us, that's what they make us believe..
and not what I understood sa bible, although if questioned I'd still answer sa mga tubag giteach sa RC church..
we have many reasons to believe the Doctirnes of our church sis...
but apart from those tangible reasons and biblical references(which you can verify for yourself), there is still a gap that requires faith.
faith in the apostolic succession, faith that the traditions were handed over from generations to generations down from the early Christians to the very Apostles themselves.
it's good that you answer from your RCC background if questioned
i hope you would also search from a Catholic's POV when you question..then compare it with whatever comes across your mind..
'cause i believe that though we question we must not loose faith...
i've always loved this qoutation by St.Augustine "believe first then you will understand".
before i have come to know Jesus and His Salvation as i do now
though baptized in the CAtholic faith,i was raised by a non-practicing Christian family
i never knew that much about God..i had trouble understanding the Trinity,Jesus as God,rosary.i can count the number of times i went to church from childhood till highschool graduation...
i've never read a bible till i was in college, i still remember how i sweat like a pig when my Reed teacher asked me about old testament
as i had no idea what the testament was?was that a certain book like genesis?Lol

i hated the church, religious people and eventually hated God for my own reasons...
point is, i have not acquired this faith that i have now because the church told me so...
all i know back then was that Jesus is Lord and God, and i called Him out of desperation...

i even remember calling Him papa Jesus back then,as i look back, i suppose i should call Father God grandpa then! Lol....
The Bible may be God's word and perfect but its not free from misinterpretation for our minds aren't perfect..
esp if not guided by the holy spirit, esp if we read it with other intentions apart from Loving God's word and others..
it can certainly be very tricky.
Like how other people condemn others using the word of God, God's word is not meant to condemn others as the very message of it is Salvation and Love.
