yep. dili ingon ana kasimple ang pagpadagan sa economy.

a stronger peso does not automatically equate to positive effect for our country, not YET anyway with the CURRENT environment here

supposed to be mas dako unta tag purchasing power kay strong naman kunohay ang peso and considering daghan tag mga gipang-import diri

but then again, unsaon nimo ang purchasing power kung mawad-an kag trabaho?

hopefully there are enough smart people in this government who know how to offset the "negative" effects of a stronger peso

dili ni sa ingon nga we hope modepreciate og balik ang peso. what we want is a stable currency

and also we want to see some reforms in the government that would encourage a healthy business environment. you want more foreign investors but at the same time you also want local businesses to thrive (and by local i don't mean it gets limited to the few biggies like Ayala's, Lopez's, etc only kay sila ray malipay og mabulahan), thus providing more employment opportunities

one of the things that need to be addressed is the cost of electricity here. mahal ta diri compared to our other neighboring countries. i think i've read somewhere that we are second highest in Asia in terms of power rates. pobre ta pero ang kuryente pwerteng mahala. and unless you're living under a rock, you know that a big portion of business (corporate) operation expenses is on electricity.

AN economics expert fears that some Business Process outsourcing (BPOs) may close shop if the Philippine currency continues to appreciate.

In ANC's Business Nightly aired Monday, Victor Abola, Program Director of the Strategic Business Economics Program of the University of Asia and the Pacific said that if the peso-to-dollar exchange goes down to 39, BPOs may transfer to other countries.

Abola said that while the Philippine peso appreciated since 2010 by 10 percent, India's currency depreciated by more than 20 percent giving BPO companies a choice to transfer their operations where they have cost advantage.

Abola said that the Business Process Outsourcing companies have aired that they will close shop if the Philippine peso continues to appreciate.

However, the Business Process Outsourcing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) said that it can't comment on Abola's statement just yet.

As of Monday, the peso-dollar exchange is at P40.8560 and the Philippine Stock Exchange breached the 6,000 mark for the first time in history making a record high for the fourth straight session. (Sunnex with wire reports)

Far from possibility man jud ni kaayo siya kay naa sad baya contracts and scope of job description on top sa labor code... Dili ka basta2 ug lay-off ang mga BPO's especially that they are comprising the bigger, if not the most, percentage of the jobs here in the Philippines.
