wala specifically sio but daghan kaau ug verses sa Bible nga kita as Christians angay i ampo ang usag usa.
what difference does it make when we ask the Virgin Mother to pray for us from asking others to pray for us?
like kung magpa ampo ka nako isip igsoon ni Kristo,
or kung mag struggle ka, moduol ka sa inyong pastor whom you think who is more spiritually matured than you
or kadtong mga early Christians mudagan sa mga Apostles or Learders sa church to confide?
or simply kanang magpapray ka with a fellow Christian to see God's hand in your life..

Mary was and is a very obedient servant of God, i don't see any reason why she is not fit to be an intercessor...
in fact, murag mas fit pa siya nga intercessor compared to anyone else in out church group, hehehe
with all the risk of being the bearer of Christ, she said thy will be done!

Veneration of Saints does not mean worship of saints.
The Biblical reference about venerating the Virgin Mother was when she visited Elizabeth
and that it also where the Hail Mary prayer was referred from.

speaking of Peter, do you know that the Catholic Church can trace Apostolic Succession?
Peter and the early Christians spoke about traditions to be followed, traditions that were given either by letter or word of mouth
or specific instruction. technically those traditions were not written in the bible in its specific form but rather something generic
therefore, di ta kaingun kay abi wala sa Bible, sayop na.
and one of the best way to know what those traditions are is by faith
faith that these practices had been handed over by early Christians themselves
    through Apostolic succuession.

i think we had a detailed discussion about these things ngadto sa Pedro Calungsod nga thread..
pwede ra pud mu refer ka didto sio. pero ok ra pud if ato i diskorso diri, after all...i think on the topic man ta

and what is it with the Virgin Mary? hahaha

Prayers have rules, naa sa Bibliya, Si Kristo man gani nagtudlo unsay paagi sa pag ampo sa amahan. If para nimu way rules ang prayer, imu sad na.
There is a process in the Catholic Church sio regarding canonization of Saints
when we say canonized, we believe that they are already in Heaven(of course, in temporary heaven)
as we know the book of revelation tells that the current heaven and earth will pass away
after the final judgement wherein new earth and heaven will be installed with God reigning as King.

This is a link where a brief if not a detailed explanation is laid over regarding how the church canonizes a saint
Frequently Asked Questions about Saints - Saints & Angels - Catholic Online

i would not expect you to believe this sio because simply you are not catholic.
but at least for education purposes you may wanna read this through.

God is beyond Logic bro, best example for this is blessing in disguise
at present, we detest certain happenings in our lives
but in the future, we find ourselves thanking for going through hardships for that experience actually made us a better person
that scenario defies the logic of preparation and anticipation.
being illogical does not necessarily leave a negative impression bro
after all God is beyond human Logic with an extremely unfathomable distance, therefore God is really illogical.

regarding penance in confession, you might wanna read or research about
sacrament of confession and indulgence for a detailed info.
in the main time, repetition of a prayer is not really for God, it is for us to be able to internalize the prayer
    rather than saying them.

the greater the sin, the greater internalization needed, the more repetitions needed..hahaha
    murag ing ana na bro..

perhaps the same reason why sometimes we have to review an article to fully grasp the thought.
or a song perhaps(if you're a musician) to not miss a single note.

The repetition is not for God, it is for us to internalize.
