    This board is NOT a democracy--sometimes we allow things based a whim, or it was simply overlooked. Meanwhile, there are others who think they know better than the mods, or perhaps perform better than the mods at monitoring stuff. Keep at it, and you will know what you will receive.

    There are interesting scientific implications to this question which are purely scientific such as the nature of the Universe, quantum mechanics, evolution of the cosmos ... and the Matrix? Are we just the shadows of the actual real universe? Yes that has been asked. But if the discussion is considered a matter of philosophy ... then that is out of place in this forum. Perhaps a thought experiment? ... but even then that requires some form of scientific logic that philosophers don't need.

    scientific logic was developed by philosophers, then mathematicians. not scientists. and most, if not all, scientists, both in the social and natural persuasions, do not use thought experiments.

    @hizuka

    religion ba gud.

    as for my reply to the topic, since this topic is afterall acceptable to this forum, free will is difficult, if not impossible to quantify. The closest framework that I can think of is game theory. Appropriated quite enthusiastically in economics and philosophy.
    But even that leaves certain gaps.

    Some scientists discredit free will. Stating nga the initial conditions of the big bang determine EVERYTHING. From my choice to sleep now, or brush my teeth two minutes later... It sounds crazy, pero it is actually legit. Every bit of us are made of particles, obeying the laws of the universe. Our choices, emotions and even our very selves are a product of those particles interaction with the laws. In the simplest form, we are nothing but a paradox of deterministic possibilities.

    That's all I can rationalize about it. Naa juy formal theory about it pero it's very hard to explain and understand

    make sense..we dont have to make life complicated. Life is simple and beautiful. We just have to celebrate and enjoy life as it is..

    So by your logic, logical thinking has to be invented? Cavemen who encountered predators logically concluded that those same predators would still be predators the next they encounter them. That did not require a philosopher. Scientific logic requires evidence to form a conclusion. Philosophy doesn't. There is a reason why it's called SCIENTIFIC logic.
