This is what i see about CICC, im not a business man, my analysis and computation maybe not that accurate

if CICC was constructed for P515,000,000, we need an ROI for 20 yrs so 515,000,000/20yrs/12months= P2,145,833

so the the CICC need to generate P2,145,833/month for construction cost alone, plus interest (w/c i dont know)

plus maintenance cost (electric ,water ,telephone ,manpower .tax and etc)

I doubt maglisod ang CICC ug generate ani na income bcoz of private competition w/c can offer much better

CICC stand as landmark of poor business planning and was used for personal political achievement/pride of the Garcia

to think these was built in rush for Asean Summit and w/c most of meetings was held in Shangila, what an irony

CICC for me is not just a convention center, it now serves as a landmark for cebu ... like a park or a tourist attraction. As an OFW, Cebu definitely needs something identifiable other the usual places we go to visit. When I returned home last February, one of the first things I did was to have my picture taken with the CICC in the background .... something I can show to my friends abroad what a nice building this is ... and true enough, on May 1 (next long vacation) this year, 3 of my office mates here in Singapore will be coming with me as tourist, and definitely one of those places we visit will be the CICC.

When you're thinking about the ROI for 20 years, you are only thinking about the DIRECT return of investment on how the CICC can generate cash, you are not thinking about the INDIRECT revenues that can be generated with the CICC. Why do we build public parks in the first place if it doesn't create revenues?

The CICC was built just last year, how can you expect it to earn right away? I'm not a businessman too, but its expected for businesses to lose for a few months/years before they can gain in the market and turn to profitability. I agree with clarkenth, dili dayon nato husgahan nga walay bili ang CICC pila pa lang ka bulan, give it sometime, the statements made by Clavel are premature gyud ...

That is why you STUDY before JUST building anything...

    CICC has no hotels nearby

    why would people use it

just to rent a bus to get there.

    it ADDs COST.....

    Well if its IRRElevant

    Marco Polo should be closing

Grand Convention center should be closing

    Waterfront should close its ballroom.....

    PIKAT...

    Its competition

    and nobody DEFENDING CICC

has come up with a LIST of Advantages of CICC....

I already gave examples of CONVETIONS in Singapore organized by private companies.

Clearly private companies want the best deals.

So Competition is a must... Can the CICC compete? Tubag dayon Wind shear....

wala gyapon ka maka convince nako para mo abang sa CICC....

maayo pa mag butang ka ug website www.cicc.com together with kots_isko

Hey zirv... what's with the hate of CICC? this seems to be like the thread IPHONE... :P lol don't be too close minded zirv...just an advise

as for topic... it will not be soley as a wholy money making... it will be in terms of marketabelity of cebu and the province compiting w/ Manila with large convention centers... now that cebu has... if pick by organization, the whole cebu benefits not just direct cash for CICC... including hotels and businesses.

I so far from being close minded.

    Its poor planning

    No hotels
    No restuarants

What do they think people will just go there

    The keyword is ATTRACTION

    how does CICC ATTRACT?
