Soccer, known to every other country in the world as football, is one of the oldest sports. The first set of documented rules was established in England in 1863. Up until that point, soccer was mainly played by the upper class at their estates and clubs. But as it gained popularity among the general public, the London Football Association was founded to help standardize the game. When the men's World Cup was held in the US in 1994, Americans realized the draw of the game, and soccer teams and clubs began springing up all over for children.
