You want to talk personal? I tell you ne, you are a good friend. I have nothing against you personally. Just that, your ways here at istorya... won't work. I never thought you guys would turn out treating each other like this. So publicly and all. What happened to the good old istoryan comradeship? Or was there one?

Some members provoke moderators, but there are SOME moderators who SEEM (at times) too willing to have an excuse to blow up.

And I know it comes with it, nga naay mo react when very opinionated pero unta dili sobraan ka personalon, nga mag hold na gyud grudge. I may be very opinionated pero for me, I am within a purpose. I can say it good, just, required, necessary... purpose.

And what is your 'purpose' po? What are you really trying to achieve? To make the moderators polite and considerate as if they're attendants at a popular fast food chain, a service of smiles?

I don't think they're obliged to that really, much in the same way any one is not obliged to become and remain a member here in this forum.

I know my opinion may not matter much, but sincerely I do not sense anything wrong with the forum's management (maybe only a little cluttered with a lot of redundant and obsolete threads but nothing a good ol' clean up can't fix). I can see no basis for your argument other than personal reasons, and some misguided, residual anger.

If you really want to effect change here in the forum, I feel that challenging the "powers that be" is not the way to go. Besides, these people are not TYRANTS. They're people and a lot of them I find to be sensible and intelligent. If one would calmly and clearly state one's thoughts, I'm sure they would be motivated to consider it. And if its a good feasible proposal, sooner or later, they would implement it.

And if anyone wants to make changes, I feel one's energy and thoughts are best directed to making positive changes in one's own real life rather than here in iStorya.net, because frankly this is just virtual space. This is just virtual space, so why are we so territorial? If one has no life other than iStorya.net, I find that sad. Really sad.

why can't we talk about moderators in the open as well?

You know very well the answer to that question. You had been a long time senior moderator and was one of those who helped formulate/approve the rules.

What separates istorya from democracy?

iSTORYA was never a democracy.. and it will never be.

Let's say for instance, naay member ex. si alcheme' mo reklamo or mo comment about something, and is interpreted as being offensive to moderators, wouldn't it be required for you guys to regard her complaint through pm because as you said, it's policy to deal with complaints in private, yet instead we read answers from your camp in public as well, so what's the fuss really nga mokagat man pud mo publicly?

A private matter will be answered privately.. bring it to the public, we will answer in public as well.

AND DAMNIT LET PEOPLE BE!

Weren't you the one who disheartened hundreds of iSTORYAns by massively deleting threads which didn't conform to your ideals? WE LET YOU BE YOURSELF EVEN THOUGH WE FELT IT WASN'T THE BEST THING TO DO. Why tell us to let people be when you yourself couldn't live up to that statement?... on a sidenote, we never suppress people's personalities as long as they conform with the rules... not to our ideals but to the rules.

as I've said a lot of times before thru my posts, iSTORYA has been my home away from home especially right now that I'm finding my way through a new and somewhat different place AGAIN. I consider y'all as my family so I don't think this "stuff" you're dealing with can't be mended unless both parties have decided to fortify their walls, locked their doors and have thrown away the keys...

for sure this topic "Your Least Favourite Moderator" - whatever the outcome of this exchange y'all are having - would be a thread ALL members should read and re-read 'coz this sums up what iSTORYA is all about. that whatever problems we're having with moderators SHOULD BE coursed thru the proper channel (PM) so as not to have our dirty laundry aired out in the open.
