German since English is a Germanic language. Spanish since lots of Cebuano and Filipino words are loaned from Spanish. After learning Spanish, you can take on any of the Romance languages--French, Portuguese, Italian or Latin.

I want to learn Cebuano. Being on this site is one of my strategies for learning it. I only speak English, so far. One of the disadvantages of being a native English speaker is people think they don't need to learn another language. I think it's a poor and lazy attitude. I want to get to know people from other cultures without them having to learn my language. Why should they have to be the ones who have to learn my language?
