Well here's some tips to be active and avoid dozing-off.

    1. Load up your iPod with a fail-safe play list of all your favorite songs. You can plug it into your car stereo while you and your friends sing along!

    2. Stock up on puzzles: crosswords, sudoku, interlocking wood pieces, mental brain teasers, Rubik's cube, and anything to keep your brain and hands busy!

    3. Take loads of pictures: of people sleeping, of people laughing, of just about anything you can take pictures of! (Note: if your camera has a continuous feature, use it!)

    4. Eat. There's nothing more challenging than trying to dine inside a moving vehicle. Ha, ha! You score plus points if it's on a rocky road.

    5. Download the mobile version of your favorite game and try to beat each others high scores. Or simply bring your portable game stations.

    6. make up meaning for other cars plate numbers. For example: WTZ could mean "Way To Zoo" or TFN could be short for "Touch Food Now". They don't really have to make sense, but the most creative meaning wins!

    7. If all else fails, bring your favorite fluffy pillow and take a nap. You might dream of a scene that you're the star or you can hope to high heavens that you dream about marrying your crush.

    Voila!
    can I add something?

well sa akin kasi, kaapg may magagandang sceneries akong nakikita, while inside the car, I took a shot of them with my friend's digicam, unfortunately, nadelete yun, nang hindi sinasadya..

On a long trip, invest on sugar rather than salt (IYKWIM) types of food. Bring sufficient water always.

Sweets make us drowsy (and fat lol), enough to endure that cold airconditioning and/or long trips.
Saltyfoods, however, makes us crave for more, making us fat (too) and get bored easily. It is messy too coz' of oil content.
