blake may not be crowned AI this year but i bet he'll be given a record deal. look at what happened to daughtry and bice. they were given their own breaks after AI.
but noticeably, only kelly clarkson went on to be more popular and even won a grammy. i hope other winners do too. i'm kinda looking forward to hicks' album. i was rooting for him. i like his sound -- like michael mcdonald.

Underwood won two Grammy's for New Artist and best country something this year, her album was the biggest selling album of 2006 (US market) . I didn't really like her, so I'm surprised at her success. But then again those country folks love their American Idol.

my top 4 are melinda, jordin, lakisha and blake... as for sanjaya, he's still hanging on 'coz of the "bollywood" factor and maybe because of this votefortheworst and howard stern campaign thing but most people in here are not really taking him seriously, it's just like a big joke... poor thing! well, i just hope that he'll go ahead of my top 4...

my favorite was stephanie. her vocal prowess, style, and quality were at par with current recording artists.
but along the way, with all the comments about how good lakisha and melinda are, stephanie lost her enthusiasm.
the voting population probably noticed so they booted her out.

from then on, i have accepted the rules of the show and how the whole thing works.
if they want sanjaya, who is not really that bad a singer at all, to win. fine. it's the decision of those who are voting.
i would want to respect that. as a matter of fact only sanjaya's presence is making me watch AI nowadays. the curiosity whether he still moves forward to the next round is giving the show a much better coverage. the other guys are just totally boring.

if it makes those sanjaya haters and those who are NOT voting happy, analysts have predicted that sanjaya's reign will be over in a week or two. i hope not. i want to see him in the finals battling it out against my new favorite melinda doolittle. that would make for an interesting show.

i agree... if sanjaya wins, i think AI will lose it's credibility as a talent contest... i can't imagine him battling it out with leona lewis of x-factor or other winners from other countries...
